I have nothing against it...just would get annoying when Gopher fans would pretend like it matters for a couple weeks and then never talk about it again. It would sometimes dominate the board and it just doesn't matter.

Canada losing in hockey is always great but Team USA doesn't matter imho.
 
There are three reasons to watch the World Juniors:

1. Your college team's players are in it.
2. A small fry makes an improbable run.
3. One of Russia's former occupied territories shivs it and the whole country has a week long party.

Hah, that is what Goon has said (that Bobby was very, very close to going with Minnesota before realizing his style of play was far better suited for DU than the Gophers). FWIW, I would rather he had gone to Minnesota. I hate DU.

Ok, all I see is the Repubs ahead by a decent number and 91% in, where the F are all these Dem votes coming from that'll supposedly give them the leads?

Also, I think the US coaches said "don't throw a hit, you'll get a penalty" while the Canadian coaches said "throw any hit you want, you won't get a penalty".
 
Apparently there were few issues today. Some broken machines, which always happens, but LEO kept the Nazis in line.

Guess all the goons are in DC ready to dress up as Antifa and get maced by Capitol Police (hint: all the Capitol Police I have ever seen are black and they don't give a single f-ck for your white hoodlum paramilitary LARPers.

Through 40 minutes of hockey, and the USA leads by 2.

USA largely outplayed Canada in the middle frame, but Canada had a tremendous chance shorthanded that hit the post. That gave Canada some momentum, but the US started to turn it back in their favor by the end of the period.

FWIW, I believe Canada was down by 2 goals going into the third period in the gold medal game last year against Russia. Lots of hockey left to be played.

It looks like there are about 200k votes left in Dekalb, along with around another 100-150k in other mostly blue counties.

You were clearly wrong. There are just too many posts that are completely impossible to interpret without some kind of holy book stitched together in 1978 out of Old Miller bottle labels. Nobody could compose that stuff while conscious.

Atlanta. This is pretty much over. It’s going to be a 50/50 senate.

Republicans continue to hold a narrow lead in the tabulated vote, but Democrats are increasingly clear favorites to win both races for Senate. Over the last hour, Republicans have failed to outperform expectations in relatively Republican areas, leaving them at the mercy of the overwhelmingly Democratic votes that remain in the Atlanta area. To prevail, the Republicans will have to outperform our expectations in these remaining votes by a significant margin, and in the case of Kelly Loeffler an implausible margin. They haven't outperformed our expectations much of anywhere tonight.

I think if Canada had scored shorthanded, we would be tied going into the third.

My guess is if the USA is going to win this one, they will need either: (a) score the next goal; or (b) shutout Canada. I just have a feeling that if Canada gets the next one, they will explode. I hope I'm wrong though. : - )

This is going to be a giant kick in the nuts of the cuckoo coup movement and we might see Mitch actually drooling while gnashing his teeth about it, if he doesn’t just stroke out tonight.❤️
