Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

I really, really want this to be true. If it does, combined with RCV, our 2022 elections will be a s-show.

Whether it bears fruit or not...there is a sizable faction within the GOP that are Trump > Party. They attack any GOPer that posts there who doesn't move mountains to help Trump overturn the election. It is kind of scary but fun to watch from afar.

@SpiroAgnewGhost
BREAKING: Milwaukee County concludes its recount of the presidential election, one of two counties where Trump asked for a recount in Wisconsin. Biden's lead, currently at about 20,500 statewide, GREW by 132 votes.

The biggest problem that I see with a self-pardon is that Trump would essentially be serving as his own judge (nemo judex in re sua (roughly, no one is the judge in his own case)), which goes against principles of natural justice.

As for standing, I don't practice in the criminal arena, but I would think the Department of Justice would have standing to bring the case against Trump. The case, of course, would not be for the use of the pardon itself, but rather the offense for which Trump pardoned himself (Trump would then argue the pardon, and the counter would be that the pardon was unconstitutional/illegal/abuse of power/etc.). As to your second question, I believe Burdick would stand for the proposition that Trump has confessed the pardoned offense. As Handyman alluded to, Trump may be able to retroactively reject the pardon, and then make a coercion type argument (which would be hilarious, as it would essentially mean that Trump would be arguing that he coerced himself into accepting the pardon). Without having done the research, I'm not sure if courts have addressed that issue, but I can't imagine in this factual scenario it would be a winner.

Trump may be the only person in the world capable of convincing a jury that this could occur.
Thank you for your insight.

I honestly didn't even know he was still alive! He hasn't been relevant in what 14 years? Doesn't shock me he is taking the RNC stance on this he never had an original thought in his head and he basically always did what he was told. Even Pawlenty had more spine than Coleman.

Georgia's secretary of state and his wife have become the target of vile, even sexualized, death threats. Asked about those threats, the GOP lawmakers who once supported Raffensperger won't comment now. "I'll take a pass," said one.

When Trump announces he will run in 2024 during Biden's Inauguration (which is the hot rumor) the Republican Party is going to be in for a very rude awakening. The Trumpers are not going to support just anyone with an R behind their name. They hate all non-Trump fellating candidates.

So now the story isn’t bad counting, it’s just illegal people voting. Trump claims Wisconsin and PA will be overturned once illegal votes are tossed

The cult leader can never fail. He can only be failed.

The pervasive mental illness of the Right will be interesting to observe when Biden is inaugurated. These stupid f-cks actually believe it's all going according to plan and Dump, Q, and baby Jebus are going to throw us all into concentration camps in the next 2 months. As in, not symbolically, but for reals.

The least intelligent, least stable, least ethical and most violent people have all aligned as Republicans. Newt and Breitbart and David Duke got their wish and now 35% of the people in this country are full on Nazis.

I'm not sure how we get out of this unless we 5150 a third of the country.

I want someone to explain to me how Biden got more votes when Trump has significantly more followers on social media. What more proof do you need?

Dont forget the rallies!! Biden had no one at his while Trump had THOUSANDS!1!!1!

She showed how little of a spine she had when she dropped "Romney" from her name to placate El Hefty.

Honestly the GOP would probably do best to just not speak publicly about fighting for the Senate seats. Half their party doesn't trust the GOP establishment and the Trumpers hate Perdue and Loeffler for not being loyal. The more they let people not speaking officially on behalf of Donald Trump discuss this the more they are fleeing support for the runoffs. They trust Lin Wood more than they will ever trust Ronna McDaniel. And if Brian Kemp is corrupt in their eyes there may be no going back. Not to mention how do you convince people their vote is going to count when you are saying the same system screwed their God-King.

Trump is turning the GOP into his own personal Political Machine. Kiss the ring or beware the next primary season.

Wasn’t he a democrat in the 90s then switched to the GOP when they took power? Then lost his job to a useless carpetbagging actor*? Now he’s begging despots for quarters in exchange for truck lot handies?

That guy isn’t even a wind vane. At least a wind vane requires some sort of minimally forceful gust to respond. He’s a floppy, third-hand undershirt at some backwater airport who can’t afford a wind sock.

*Franken ended up being pretty spectacular by all accounts save for his final month.

Yes he was a dem earlier. He’s nothing but a punchline.
