Grand Unified Election Thread 2: What is the difference between Biden and Dump?

That's the subtext of this election a lot of Democrats are going to miss. Trump was rejected. Republicans were widely embraced...

There was a guy on CNN saying just that. They like Biden over Trump but they want a check to make sure he doesnt go farther left than center.

No I meant it is gone from the 2 party system. We have the Liberals and the "We Will Do Whatever the Opposite of What They Say and You Will Love Us For It" and that is why things are the way they are.

I get that, but my point is I think maybe the Democratic party is growing and diversifying to the point where it contains all of non-authoritarian America within it, even economic conservatives who used to worship people like George Will. I am interested to know about the increased Latino and Black support for the GOP. I suspect that is machismo-obsessed men and religious fundies of color who put the Leader Principle above democracy and multiculturalism.

We may be seeing a further realignment of American politics as authoritarian and misogynist (now, of any color) vs all the rest of us. The contradiction in that, of course, is white authoritarians are also white supremacists.

Biden is getting 60% of mail in votes in the red districts in Pennsylvania. That is awesome!

That is what I have been hoping.

The post game analysis of all this in a couple years is going to be very interesting.

In NV, some small drops chip Biden's lead from 22K to 20K, but then a big one pushes it back up to 22K.

I wonder if the smaller drops were from the rural areas. They were expected today I do believe. But Clark is the overwhelming outstanding votes and that is will always (no pun intended) Trump the Rurals in Nevada.

What are the odds that, as mail-in ballots become a consistent majority of votes cycle after cycle, most states process them upon receipt to avoid this?

Seeing as this is reasonable and a good idea, probably near zero in America. But yeah, tabulate the votes as they come in. Don't release results publicly until the number of uncounted ballots can no longer change the outcome.

Oh and fund our election systems a whole lot better to have enough people on hand to do the counts and make sure everything is always better prepared.

Yeah, no one was rejected. Trump just lost the election is all.
Trump was resoundingly rejected by the vast majority of urban people and a good chunk of suburban people.

Trump was openly embraced by a segment of suburban people and the vast majority of rural people.

The only difference is urban + metro suburban > non-metro suburban + rural.

(Obviously that’s a simplistic take though)

It will take at least another cycle.

Biden just got another 2k out Northampton County in PA. Lead over 17k.

Huh? That makes no sense to me. Release the results publicly when the polls close. Nobody is voting after that and the only reason not to announce votes is psychological effect on people who have not yet voted.

Treat early votes exactly like in-person votes. Process and count upon receipt. When the polls close, announce the final number. Done, except for late arriving votes that are in transit when polls close.

Gritty pays his respects to the terrorist brownshirts who were planning to attack the Philly convention vote counting.

I assume he means don't let the updated count go public til the polls close. Do it like Cali and Washington do it.
