I’m sure pence can save Indiana, he did such a good job on the national issue

Good Lord - active cases have increased by 1.18m since September 1st. Active. 1,479 yesterday is the higest single day since August 11th and 3rd highest day since March 27th. With the 7-day average at 1,080 (highest since August 17th) the US is on pace for 301k dead by EOY.

To say that people have given up implies that they actually did things to fight against this virus in the first place.

So we're having a massive spike and AFAIC state and local leaders, even Dems, are not talking about closing down businesses again.

Priorities are shown by our verbs, not our nouns.

People did. The highways were empty in April when I travelled between WI and MN 3 or 4 times. Once on a drive on I-39 between where I live in Rock County and Stevens Point WI I did not see a single vehicle from the point I-39 peeled off I-90/94 and when I got off the interstate 70 miles later. People did stay home. Part of that was before the legislatures pushed back on some governors, yes. Those mandates won't happen now. But we did do something in the early months of this. We absolutely are not doing the same things in November that we were in April.

All of a sudden, king Of the MN dip shits won’t try to stop walz emergency powers because we have a virus problem.

little late, Paul

It is too late for those who have suffered and died, but it isn't too late overall. At any point in time we can begin to contain the virus if we just start doing what many of us know we should have done 7 or 8 months ago.

Not in the South. And the South spiked in the summer. And right after we had it sort of contained up here South Dakota held the largest super spreader event on the planet. Way back when this first started we just let everyone travel here from overseas and bring it in.

The only plan we've ever had is herd immunity the hard way. That's it.

Well it is about time he learned his lesson and woke up to the truth...which means someone he knows got sick. There is no way he and the MNGOP who just yesterday had their airhead mouthpiece calling all of this tyranny changed their tune so fast without there being some sort of threat to the personally. My guess is Brainerd is worried about a spike (or has one havent looked) and the voters told him to shut his stupid face and fix this.

Sioux Falls mayor cast tie breaking vote to deny a mask mandate.

You can’t fix stupid you just have to hope stupid doesn’t infect you

Uh, yes we did too in the South. If you even care to look at graphs, the South’s highest peak (summer, which it won’t be for much longer) is lower than any other region, with the most people assigned to living there. The Midwest, which, last I checked houses Minnesota, has by far the worst peak of anyone. It’s not just South/North Dakotans leading the charge. Minnesotans are right there too.
Quit pointing fingers. Everyone f-cked up. All of us. It’s a national failure. People on here, a liberal, highly educated pocket of individuals, have gone on vacations, or held/went to parties, or went out to eat in a restaurant more than once. Sure, you wore a mask, but has been discussed ad nauseum on here, just a mask isn’t enough. Everyone, including liberals, are spreading it. Liberals MAY be doing better, but discernibly? As of 11/12/20, it doesn’t appear to be that way. Hell, people on here are talking about flying on airplanes for vacation because there’s a chance they aren’t high risk for spreading infection. To that I say: how selfish are you? Why don’t we all wait to go on vacation? I canceled a trip to Michigan and a trip to Florida this year, and we drive. Put your money where your mouth is.
I am a healthcare worker. For the foreseeable future, I’m certain I’ll be working with covid positive patients while getting tested weekly. My patients get sick because fellow staff are f-cking selfish and go to bingo nights and Florida. I somehow managed to not get sick a few weeks ago when 6 of 8 kids and 3 staff I worked with in close proximity tested positive and were symptomatic. I guess my mask saved me that time. That said, it’s just a matter of time before I get it.

Sorry, but I don’t think I’m wrong.

masks in stores in the twin cities isn’t even an issue. Outside of cities, probably.

inside the cities it’s because people can’t stop gathering with their god**** friends and family.
sat on a call yesterday with a colleague whose teenage son just hit his ten day quarantine. He got it from hanging around his high school friends. What does he do day one of being fred? Took his moms car to drive and pick up his friends. She told him to wear a mask.

I think walz shouldn’t let schools amd sports be open at this point but a full lockdown won’t help as much as you think with our idiot neighbors and the holidays. The only lockdown I can see working now is a full US lockdown with actual support for people.

you can think I’m wrong, and that’s fine, I still graduate with my masters in this in a few weeks :)

I understand you are getting a graduate degree, and while that gives you a pretty significant leg up on the rest of us, you're still ignoring the fact that mask usage quadrupled overnight when the governor put he mandate in place. Overnight. Of course there are going to be people who don't bother. They're lost no matter what. That doesn't matter.

I'm saying Walz should put through an emergency order to shutdown all athletics in the state. He should mandate all schools are distance learning. He should mandate that restaurants are no longer allowed to have indoor dining, and that includes temporary structures as well. He should mandate no gatherings > 10 people. Retail should be drive-up only.

Again, the goal here isn't to stop the virus, it's to slow it down. It's out of control.

What does matter is that even if 25% more people follow these orders, it necessarily means a smaller growth rate. Over time that becomes fairly significant. That's just simple math. We're already filling up the hospitals. Your argument that we should just shrug our shoulders and give in is not persuasive.

When did I say give up? I literally said schools and sports should be stopped. Have no idea why bars and restaurants are still open for dine in

i don’t think a full lockdown requiring documentation to go get groceries is what we need given what I already outlined
