Welcome folks, to the Biden administration!

Wait. Someone in the media is actually complaining about Biden's picks? Really? Have they looked at what Trump did?

CONCERN !!! concern !!! CONCERN !!! concern !!! CONCERN !!! concern !!! CONCERN !!! concern !!! CONCERN !!! concern !!! CONCERN !!! concern !!!

They can't help themselves. Like sports media, they only have about 3 narratives which they regurgitate endlessly.

Its Politico...their tagline should be "We Are Here To Say DEMS IN DISSARAY!!1!!1" That article was straight up trash.

Kepler,

The bus accident is the best of the best of that show. Every time I see it I get sucked back into the show. Even when the show is bad it is still quite good. When House has to convince the lady to cut off her leg after the crane accident and she still dies that was a great episode as well. (plus then he nails Cuddy!)

The last 2 seasons were not great but I would say the last half season was a good ending and I love the finale. (though it should have ended with You Cant always Get What You Want as the song) Having Wilson and his story be the impetus for the conclusion was a great way to go.

Umm, didn't Donnie have like four generals in his first cabinet? And people werecpraising him for that.

Could never watch House. Granted, I came in somewhere in the middle, but I found him an unlikable azz, and I was quickly tired of the "oh, its this disease, no wait, it's this", only to finally figure out what it really was in the last five minutes. Over and over again. Cliche and formulaic.

Still one of my favorite characters and shows of all time. House understood humanity at a higher level than anyone else did.

That is the crux of the Politico article. Basically that there has been too many generals in the position already and this guy doesn't have the cache Mattis had. (probably because he doesn't want to kill half the world) Also it will require a waiver because he hasn't been retired long enough. (like the previous Generals)

Politco maintains that people are worried because it seems to favor the military when it is supposed to be Civilian/Military.

Apparently they are trial ballooning Doug Jones as AG. Hope that gets shot down hard; I see no upside and there are so many excellent other choices (Sally Yates, Merrick Garland, even Eric Holder again if he would take it).

Um... no. Speaking as a fellow angry curmudgeon, House didn't understand humanity at all. He understood the particular cognitive biases which make up human behavior but he constantly mistook the map for the territory.

House the show had problems. Cuddy sucked -- every scene involving her in 8 seasons except for House's Head and Wilson's Heart was wasted. And the actress playing her sucked even harder. The show would have been twice as good with an even slightly competent actress playing that role.

But the House/Wilson dynamic was the whole show, everything else was window dressing, just as the Holmes/Watson dynamic was the whole magic of the stories. I loved the conception of the series and the writing which refused to be dumbed down for at least the first 5 seasons before the inevitable sclerosis that destroys every successful venture. And House's white board scenes are the second-greatest in TV history, after The Good Place. It's not lupus.

A smart show for smart people that offered just enough pap for the dummies to keep it on the air, but no more. They are so precious and rare -- there have been, what, 10 in the history of TV? Probably even fewer.

House
The Good Place
West World
Twilight Zone
Outer Limits
Mr. Robot
Rick & Morty
Venture Brothers
Midnight Gospel
Futurama
Legion

See, I loved the Cuddy character and I loved the actress who played it. And, yes, he did understand humanity at a higher plane. You won't get me off that take.

Just say no to Merrick Garland and Eric Holder. Why would you want to nominate someone Mitch liked until Obama liked him? Garland is a compromise pick not a leadership pick. Holder had his time and Biden can do better.

What is your issue with Jones? It isnt like his being suggested is new...it has been mentioned here going back to November and there has been a lot of talk about it by media types on Twitter going back to almost Election Night. It is a pretty popular idea. If you see no upside for him I dont know how you see any for Garland.

Oh and Cuddy was fine...if she had red hair you would have been calling for her to get a spinoff and you know it.

Jones is fine. I'd rather have Yates.

I would rather have Yates as well. Jones is my second pick because I don't think Yates will get the job.

I don't think Biden has the balls to pick Yates. He doesn't want the fight nor the baggage.

I agree...and honestly if I was him I might not either. Barring GA breaking the right way it is going to be a duel over any position and while it might not register much if he just appoints people to interim positions for many posts doing it for the AG doesn't feel right. And he would almost certainly have to do that with Yates. (Holder would be even worse)

Of course it also depends on where we are at that point. If they are blocking every pick for every position and AG is like the 5th or 6th in a row then screw it do what must be done.

I don't get why anyone that is not a full on Centrist would think Garland is the guy to pick unless you just want to avoid all fighting and hope he is seen as a middle of the road choice. Leave him on the Court of Appeals.

I'd leave him on the Court. You may want to nominate him again.

Jones does have a history of going after white supremacist groups. I mean yes he's not the most liberal person out there, but he does have a decent track record.

Meh, I'd rather replace all our centrists with liberals to combat the Nazis.

I suggested Holder because he was a good AG. But he's ambitious and he wouldn't do it again.

We can't factor the Nazi confirmation threat into our decisions. We aren't going to let them decide our policies or governance. They can f-ck up legislation, fine, that's in the Constitution. But if they dynamite our nominees we'll work around it and have them serve as temporary appointments or we'll leave the political offices vacant and govern through the process careers.

F-ck the GOP and all its voters. They betrayed America. Now they can die alone in the cold of the diseases they wished upon themselves.

One of you floated this, right? Thinking it was funny? Feels like your brand of "humor," mookie.

For fork's sake, just pick Yates.

What they couldnt find some rando staffer to say Rahm Emmanuel is up for it? Sorry but every one of these stories that gives people the vapors make me laugh because they never actually happen. I guarantee Biden has no interest in Cuomo getting that job.
