As I recall, Klobuchar received quite a bit of criticism from certain quarters for her refusal to charge any cops while she was county attorney. IIRC, there were something like 20 cop killings during her tenure, and she charged none of them, choosing instead to go the grand jury route. I suspect that is what the tweet refers to.

Amy has to be an attractive pick if for no other reason than the Democrats have been pretty successful in statewide elections for quite awhile. Very little chance of losing the seat in the absence of a last minute surprise before the election.

I would buy that except the VP-Elect is a much harder lined AG than Amy was. A lot of the criticism of Amy came after the fact and comes from the Trixie's of the world. As someone who lives/has lived in her town almost all of my life I can say there never was much true criticism which is why she has been a political dynamo and will have that seat forever if she so chooses.

Off topic but my dad used to see her dad all the time at the laundromat. He always bragged about that but I never got why until years later.

White House staff, SES. Depending on position may or may not require Senate confirmation. And that's as specific as I'm ever gonna get. :-)

Unlike her husband, Dr. Mrs. has not wasted her talent on message boards.

I am TOTALLY bragging about her!!!

Is anyone else now worried that our posts here are gonna be read aloud in confirmation hearings? We know Romansahki Ron Johnson loves reading tweets to prove bias ;^)

I'm the only one who has to worry about that, and I've already told Dr. Mrs. that if she needs to cut the dead weight I understand.

(TBH if she were to move into certain posts I would in fact moderate my behavior.)

I'd prefer to see policy people in these positions and not elected pols. For one thing, I like keeping our incumbents. For another, elected pols are hood ornaments and the policy people are 10x smarter and 100x more trustworthy.

There is no reason to appoint people you and I have heard of to Cabinet positions. For the highest profile positions (State, Defense) it's okay because those are cynosures to draw fire while the real people do the real work. But in the less arousing departments the Secretary and D/S actually do work, and you don't want Members strutting around worrying about hair & makeup.

Let's keep the "talent" where it belongs, on the teevee and blowing donors. With very few exceptions the most important people in government are people you and I will never, ever hear about.

But you'd keep the Boston and overall Massachusetts snark that annoys me even though I enjoy it, right? It wouldn't be the same here without it!!!

What has eight legs, four heads, and six arms?

The finish line at the Boston Marathon.

I'll be honest, I'm going to be disappointed if Kep doesn't take this opportunity to become the Anthony Weiner of this administration.

If this guy is correct, and Biden has thought this through to the extent he has done with all other departments of government what he has with his foreign policy group, then everything should be ok. No matter how Trump fucks with it.

Someone actually is playing four dimensional chess.

Most of that makes sense. The other thing is they want us to get all riled up and start marching in the streets. They want civil unrest. We need to just step back and let nature happen. He lost, and his BS cases in court are going nowhere.

Seeing reports of Bernie Sanders making a play for Labor Secretary.

Doesn’t Vermont have an R governor? Maple syrup Jesus is off his rocker.

And they dumped esper who didn’t want the military marching on our own citizens in the streets

VT requires a special election within 6 months for a federal office vacancy. At most, the Governor's appointee only lasts that long before facing voters.
