  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

Can we go back to the prior format?

I could excuse all of that, as it's mere annoyance, but the lack of report ability (let alone follow-up) is outrageous.

Again, ObviousTroll2020 is obnoxious. But what if someone comes in spewing all kinds of racist garbage? What then?

The "Working" icon indicates latency. I see it all the time these days, even when doing something trivial like moving between views. The system is fighting desperately for bandwidth and/or other resources and bleeding out all over us. It's not pretty.

It is ridiculous. I have had the "working" icon pop up when I pasted things...not even posting yet just putting something in the field!

Yeah you can get it just for changing focus between objects on screen. That's an event that requires internet communication. It's not like the Cafe is client/server. :-)

I was fine with the b.s. for a while but I find myself coming here less and less. I have to imagine the main page getting less and less looks equals less revenue to the point they just hope it will one day all go away? But if that were really the case just shut it down - don't waterboard us into submission.

It has stopped showing me actual newest posts. I'll click "last post" on a thread and there might be 3 pages after what's listed on the index.

Does USCHO know that "off the shelf system" doesn't literally mean that? That there's some configuration to be done? Do they care?

Are you folks talking about via phone or via PC? On my PC I have zero problems with thread update except for the inconvenience that if I post to a thread if I want to see it at the top I have to refresh.

After the initial discomfort of the new I don't notice the format. But I also used to forget old girlfriends quick.

It pops up on both mobile and PC. Mobile is almost unusable anyways because of the ads.

And Swansong no one is listening. Even when they post about it it is disingenuous at best.

Whats funny is for the most part the tweaks that would be required are easy as heck stuff that are pretty standard. I highly doubt they would cost any more investment. In the research I did about setting something similar up they are standard things. We arent asking for all the bells and whistles but something that doesnt feel 20 years out of date would be nice. At least it moves a little faster, though errors show up way more.

When this started, I missed being able to Rep posters which I actually hadn't been doing much in recent years. It was replaced by a Like link (no Dislike). Now I get an error when I try to Like a post as I wanted to do for a few others on this thread. Do others have trouble with that too?

Will you forget DT quickly if he loses in November? ;-) :-D

I used to like things and now I get the error as well.

Is anyone at USCHO reading this? And do they care?
I

They arent. They only dare post their messages in the announcements section which we cant reply to. Tim Brule and board quit. Even if you file a ticket like they suggest they ignore it.

Just think, probably half the board doesnt even know about it yet cause it is the offseason. When the hockey crowd starts posting if/when games start they are going to be in for a world of hurt.

75% of the time I have come here today, I get the server too busy error
