Nope new graduate! :D I know Dave takes a lot of heat on these boards from all the grandpas on here, but oh well! Jack Johnson is pretty darn good and Kings' album is awesome (and the songs that aren't on the radio are even better). Hence I said RIGHT NOW for musical tastes. It changes all the time for everyone. Unless you like Bing Crosby or something. Highly doubt he's coming out with new stuff anytime soon (RIP BING! :o )

DMB takes a lot of heat more for their following than their music. They're an outstanding band who puts on an incredible, energy filled show, no shame in that. They'd definitely go in my top 5, and are 10x better than anything that's come out in the last 15 years...

The bolded quote FTW. I saw them at Alpine this year for the first time and it was absolutely incredible. People say they're not talented because they play musical instruments? Unlike the clowns on the radio? Come on, give me a break.

And whoever signed the neg rep and said ctf, have some nerve and sign it with your real name please. I know she didn't sign it.

I took the title as "how you feel right now" not "bands that are out right now."

So, that being said,

Situation A:

1. AC/DC
2 (and it's a big gap). Metallica
3. Pink Floyd
4. Pearl Jam
5. Cake

Honorable Mention: The Queers (a Ramones-meets-Beach Boys punk rock band)

Situation B:

1. Pearl Jam
2.
3.
4.
5.

Current music isn't that good. There are some decent songs and such, but I don't hear staying power as I did 5, 10, 15 years ago. From any genre (besides country, since I don't listen and can't comment on that).

Which, apparently, is odd, since I love the Dead.

Then "into right now" puts my list at Situation A in my post.

Edit: the vet posters on the board already know this, but my first car, a 1989 Chevy Corsica, had the Steal Your Face logo hand painted on the hood. :D

1. The Black Crowes - although I'm mixed on their latest release. It's good stuff, but I like their older stuff more. Lions and Warpaint are my favorites.
2. The Beatles - Need anything be said? I'm really happy with their catalog being remastered and re-released.
3. Rilo Kiley
4. Modest Mouse - Tiny Cities Made of Ashes (BBC Radio Session), I think for the bass, is my favorite song of theirs, but I like their last two albums the best.
5. Led Zeppelin - These guys really turned me on to blues rock. If I went by genre, it'd easily be tops for me.
