Your program's Mount Rushmore

I'm not sure if this has been done on here before, but a few years back ESPN did a Mount Rushmore type piece for different sports teams. Basically, who are the 4 people (players, coaches, ADs, etc.) that would be on your school's hypothetical Mount Rushmore? Feel free to include more than four, but basically I plan on collecting the "nominees" and come up with a Mount Rushmore for each school. When we have plenty of nominees, I plan on using the polls section where fans can vote (if there are more than 4). Ultimately, CHW may use the data for a piece before the 2012-2013 season starts. Anyway, I thought it would be a fun discussion for the summer, and I will start off with North Dakota...

North Dakota: Ben Cherski, Greg Johnson, Jeff Panzer, Dean Blais

So, who is on your school's Mount Rushmore?

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

Probably go with Harry Lawson, Bill Wilkinson, Dan Dorian and Wayne Gagne for Western. Too early to tell if this latest renaissance will lead to new faces on the cliff, especially with two coaches in two years.

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

For Quinnipiac I would say:

President John Lahey
AD Jack McDonald
Head Coach Rand Pecknold
Defenseman Reid Cashman '07

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

I havent been around/alive as long as some of the other RPI fans but if I were to choose 4 for my Mt. Rushmore it would go like this:

Ned Harkness
George Servinis
Frank Chiarelli
Mike Adessa

So tough to choose just 4.

Ken Mellem should also be on UND's Mount Rushmore.

Brown:

Robert Gaudreau
Yann Danis
Coach Jim Fullerton
Donald Whiston

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

Well, I'm sure those more learned than I will disagree, but for Wisconsin, I will start the debate with:

Bob Johnson
Mike Eaves
Mark Johnson
Bill Howard

It's heavy on the coaching impact, I guess, but with the staying power and infleunce they have had, I start there.

Blais over Gasparini?

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

I'll take a crack at it.

Mariucci, Brooks, Broten, Mayasich.

Edit: Neal Broten, that is. :)

Gino is certainly worthy, but I wouldn't take Blais off. He brought UND back to being a national power after being in the doldrums in the early 90s. I'm fine with Gino replacing Johnson or Panzer.

EDIT: Gino Gasparini has been added to North Dakota's list.

Maine

Shawn Walsh
Grant Standbrook
Paul Kariya
Jimmy Montgomery

Re: Your program's Mount Rushmore

Cornell:
Ken Dryden (career 1.59 GAA/.939%)
Ned Harkness (.854 coaching the Big Red, including 2 titles and the undefeated season)
Joe Nieuwendyk (post-college accomplishments should not overshadow his excellent NCAA career)
Lance Nethery (career 2.44 pts/game)

The first 3 are no-brainers. My other considerations for the 4th spot include Dan Lodboa, Brian Cornell, Mike Schafer, Brock Tredway, and Doug Ferguson.

You have to include Gino. He took over a program that was terrible - I really thought the program was so bad that it may not ever come back. Rube Bjorkman had a .447 winning %. Gino brought the program back to life and won 3 NCs. I think you need to include Blais too. I would add Hrkac in place of Johnson.
