Your new Los Angeles Vikings

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

Phew, the Bills will likely be staying in Buffalo.

At least I hope they're not moving to Toronto...

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

I agree, it sucks to pay for a new stadium for billionaire NFL owners, but whether it is right or wrong, if it isn't built, the 2012 season is the last for the Vikings in MN.

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

And for 17 1/2 games in 1998.

Anderson's miss is still one of my all time favorite hater moments. Favre's pick is up there too.

Anderson's miss isn't on youtube (that I could find), but the following video is beautiful. :)

As a devout Viking hater, I hope they stay. Definitely the Packers top rival of at least the past 15 years. The NFC North would be diminished (at least from a Packer fan's perspective) if they were gone.

They're much easier to take when they suck though.

Oh yeah...and the Farve era...where in 2009, the Vikings could well have taken home the hardware had the game against the superbowl champs been on neutral turf.

Personally I wouldn't place much money on the thought that the Vikings as a franchise is permanently washed up.

Neutral turf? How about if they just weren't trying to intentionally hit the QB late... and actively trying to injure him? That franchise should have been destroyed along with the rest of the city during Katrina. Hopefully they get Katrina'd again.

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

Best quote I've seen so far.

"Wow, that Zellers guy is really trying to screw the people of Minnesota." - Norm Green.

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

If you want to have fun, listen to him when he is interviewed about all of this...he talks out of both sides of his mouth so much it is amazing he doesnt choke.

The legislature has been calling the Vikes/NFLs bluff on this for 10 years. Every year it is "wait until next year" which of course means the cost will just go up. Well now the lease is up and it is the final hour I wonder what they are going to do.

Yup. Because even how much it sucks, if we don't do it there is some sap town out there that will gladly take them off our hands. It's getting to the point where I don't even care which way it goes I just want to know. Decide already so we can move on.

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

I'm surprised the Commish is not forking over NFL bucks to help build a new stadium.

But where would you build it?

Re: Your new Los Angeles Vikings

The GOP? If it fails, its a failure on both sides of the aisle. They all deserve blame.

If it fails I'll consider the GOP to be awesome! I don't know if I've ever felt that way despite agreeing with many GOP points over time.

Actually the league does fork over up to 200 million to help teams. But the teams generally build that into their offers to start with.
