That could be called the Western Hockey Conference.

So, a conference with one team away from the Atlantic coast I can live with...

However the PAC in PAC-12 is for Pacific and in my tenure in Colorado, I haven't found the ocean beaches, and I haven't found any in Utah or Arizona either.
