Yes, let the hate flow through you...UAA vs. UA_

Re: Yes, let the hate flow through you...UAA vs. UA_

So how is the series working now in regards to awarding The Cup? Total points earned? Can't really keep it the same with the league tiebreakers. Or maybe they will and they'll end up in a hilarious situation of "alright we have to do the shootout for the WCHA point first and then we'll do the Governor's Cup shootout..."

I would guess total points earned. The October game didn't count for some reason, though.

Re: Yes, let the hate flow through you...UAA vs. UA_

I thought we followed NCAA rules in the past (except if the records are even after 4 games). So there can be a win, loss, or tie after the 5 minute OT. If the 4 game series win/loss/tie record ends up even, then there is a shootout for the Cup. The 3x3 or shootout that could happen for any single game for WCHA points would be ignored for the Cup. But I’m not certain on any of this.

WCHA total points could be a mess.

You could end up “winning” three games (+2+2+2+0 =6). And end up tied with the other team who only "won" one game (+1+1+1+3 =6).

Or how about if the fourth game of the series needed a WCHA sudden death shootout to decide a winner, which also decided if the series was tied. Would they use “one” shootout to decide both the fourth game winner and the CUP, or would we have back-to-back shootouts to decide the Cup. How pathetic would that be?

Go Nooks!

'Nooks rocking the 1938 throwback jerseys this weekend. They look sweet in the pictures. It's the same jersey that is framed in the south side of the Carlson Center.

And like the framed antique, they say Fairbanks on the front. Try to not let this blow your minds, Seawolves.

UAA could win 5 games but the UA Strategic Pathways will remind them they lost all by shutout. By the way..............how"s the mall?

Do they have really cool rocks and leaves on them?

Really? Personally I'd not want to be associated with Fairbanks. I thought that was what he admin thought as well when they removed the "F" from UAF.

Big weekend for both teams! Hoping to see a Nooks sweep! Can't imagine many UAA fans are making the trip with how empty I've seen the Sully on TV the past couple weekends. Hopefully Nanook fans pack the Carlson!!

Here's a fun stat...this season UAA is 0-5-1 on the road, while UAF is 1-7-0 at home.

FYP.

Good game UAA, it's so good to have a nearly healthy team again. Hopefully Anholt isn't dealing with too much of an injury. Sounds like there was a lot of blood on his jersey.

Re: Yes, let the hate flow through you...UAA vs. UA_

That's 1-5-1 now!

SEAWOLVES WIN!

Can we put two good nights in a row, I sure hope so. The playoffs aren't completely out the window. Season series is now tied at 1 apiece.

Also, hats off to the UAA VB team for nearly sweeping all GNAC and D-II awards and playing in the National Championship game tomorrow!

With a smaller team courtesy of Thomas' recruiting, shades of the Montreal Canadians are apparent to me in our team. Slow starts or bad stretches of play were rampant with them, due to the under-sizing and the dependence on skill and chemistry. All the injuries continuously shook our lines, which only further expanded our problems. Now we may be witnessing who this team truly is. The last three weekends (including the *second* Gov's Cup game) have seen a major increase in GF vs. GA, offense, PK and PP, basically all facets of the game. There is a light fellow Seawolf fans, and it might not be just the sun.

I'm reserving judgment until they're not playing one of the other bottom three teams in the league.

I mean, they are playing well, but right now we're comparing shades of poo.

We "tied" against Tech and BG one apiece and there are now 2nd & 3rd in the conference, Tech outscored by just one goal that whole weekend.

Let's see if Thomas is out coached tonight. UAA has yet to play great back to back games this season.
