Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Iles has given up 4 goals on 12 shots. Goaltending switch doesn't look good in hind sight.

Dueck (Yale) scores again, its 5-0. Iles out and Garman in for Cornell.
First of the year for Dueck.

You are always looking for a hot goaltender in the playoffs, you have one who pitches the shutout and then doesn't get the start.

Yep. Expect plenty of people to second guess Shafer.

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Cornell 5 min major and game misconduct for checking fr behind/boarding. Ugly play. Yale D Trentowski to the dressing room with apparent shoulder injury on the play.

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

something tells me it didn't matter who was in net for this one. Cornell can't expect to win if they're not going to convert on at least 1 pp in the 1st. But it's an easy out to just blame the goaltending decision

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Broc Little power play goal, 6-0. Kind of an old fashioned whoopin unfolding now. Yale now has to avoid getting lured into chippiness and losing somebody important for next week.

Is RPI definitely in if (when) Yale wins?

Yale PP expires. Still 6-0 Eli.

RPI can finish no lower than 15th in the PairWise Rankings. If Yale wins, the only team below 15th in the PairWise Rankings that will gain an automatic bid will be the winner of the RIT-USAFA game.

In that event, the PairWise Rankings would call for RPI to be in. I've been assured that any prediction made by the PairWise Rankings in regard to who will make the NCAA tournament field can be regarded with as great a degree of assurance as a prediction that the sun will come up tomorrow.

Energy is draining out of the game...hopefully Rondeau holds on to the shutout. Double shutout would be pretty impressive and might help Rondeau get some well-deserved recognition.
