Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Yale scores on a Martin drive from the point. Power play goal.
2-0 with less than 4 to go.

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Both goals were scored on the PP for Yale, they are now 2 for 2 in that aspect

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Not a good start for the Big Red. We're not a team that comes back very well

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

It appears as though the 2nd Yale goal was scored by Limbert on a deflection, but they (for now) have credited it to Martin.

Cornell PP. Little for interference.

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Cornell PP as Yale takes a penalty 2:00 left in the 1st

Re: Yale vs. Cornell -- ECACH Championship 7:00 3/19/2011 Atlantic City, NJ

Announcers have said they believe RPI goes to NCAAs if Cornell loses. Cornell in (automatically) if they win.

End of the 1st from Atlantic City and it's 2-0 Yale in the lead

Tough first period for Red.
Yale scores on 2 of 3 power plays.
Cornell 0 for 3 on the PP.
Shots 10-7 Yale for the first period.

You know, Yale got a lot of notoriety early in the year for their explosive offense. Then we hit some doldrums mid-season and lost a few. Since we recovered, through the end of the regular season and into the playoffs, it seems the defense and goaltending are better than before. The O has been there but the scores have been tighter and the D has been awesome.

And they seem to be playing with boat loads of confidence, you can just see it on every shift. That always helps the teams chances.

Goal now officially credited to Limbert, who has 2 on the night, assist to Martin.
