Yale - The best team in the country?

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

Therefore, since Yale's rating is more than 2x that of North Dakota...according to KRACH, out of 100 theoretical games, Yale would be expected to win 65-70. Do you believe that?

Given the accuracy of KRACH in the past, absolutely. Given what I have seen from both teams this season... yes.

I guess this is the part where you call me a dummy or something based on your subjective feelings, right?

Let me put this a different way. If I said I didn't believe the teams that North Dakota has played against were trying very hard to win, what would you say to me? And why would you be justified in saying it?

How many coaches vote in the polls?

That doesn't make it right... I have a hard time believing that many WCHA coaches would vote for Yale as the #1 team.

If you can believe in your heart that Yale would beat Miami 80 times out of 100, or if they would beat Boston College 75 times out of 100, then I won't say another word. I think they'd struggle to win 50. Saying that, if you TRULY believe that, then you are probably claiming that Yale is the greatest team in hockey over the last 20 years.

I would never insult you, we just have a difference in opinion. I do find it funny that you kept saying that I didn't understand KRACH. It was pretty comical.

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

I love computer rangings - they don't have any emotion about the teams. :D Fans will overrate their teams and some of their rivals when an up and comer makes it up near the top of the standings.

I'm getting the feeling that Yale is the TCU of hockey. They are good, but shouldn't be playing for a championship due to their conference and SOS.

The good thing is that at least Yale will get that chance to play for it during the tournament (barring epic fail to miss the tournament)

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

You know, it's like Post #293 never even happened. Now I fully understand why a friend described you as an "all-time moron."

Offensive and defensive rankings aren't computer rankings, slapnuts. It doesn't take a computer to calculate how many goals per game a team is scoring - maybe for you it does.

And yet that's what you provided when I asked. Man it's like talking to someone with a split personality. Whatever, after reading your assertion that Yale would be Miami 80/100 times or BC 75/100 times I have nothing further. That level of delusion speaks for itself.

really? because there are four teams ranked in the top 20 and Clarkson is 21. Now how many teams in the conference of TCU are ranked?

He doesn't have a heart, silly!

tUMD sucks. Blah. They'd still beat Yale.

The voters may have them right, but the ECAC is still regarded, fairly or not, as not being a major player and that the good teams won't have to play the kind of schedules of so-called powerhouses that are in Hockey East or WCHA. So in a BCS type system, they would lose ground as those teams improve their SOS.
