Yale Hockey 2017-2018 Season Thread

Re: Yale Hockey 2017-2018 Season Thread

I watched it. Kacz looked solid, albeit not against the greatest offensive team. He moved well and generally played angles effectively. He was screened on the first goal (where was the D moving bodies out of the way?). The second goal did go off his chest and in from the side. Mostly, he look calm and collected--like he was in control. I would like to see him get more starts.

Yale finally gets some puck luck to steal a game in which neither team played very well. Still way too many penalties, causing the the team to spend too much time getting tired working the kill. Tucker made some key saves and the first goal by Snively was a nice snipe. The second went in off of an SHU stick while a penalty was called on SHU, not sure if the play should have been blown dead, but will take the win.

O'Gara also scored in the game, they both deserve to be in the show.

Not yet. O'Gara has had problems in his own end. And he hasn't shown enough confidence with puck on the rush. Maybe next year.

For those who might be heading up to the tourney at Dartmouth, the Element Hanover Lebanon hotel is a decent deal about 2 miles from the rink and town. Doing a quick trip up Friday morning and watching both 4pm games and shooting home on Saturday night. A quick and easy trip for two games and you still get to celebrate New Years at home.

You are spot on! The Element is about 1 1/2 miles from the rink. A right turn out of the hotel then a right turn to the Thompson arena parking lot. The Element is one of those new "green" refreshing hotels with a dynamite breakfast included.

Kemp cut from World Junior team, he will be needed next weekend in Hanover.

Molly’s was good, steaks for dinner at Jessie’s even better.

Yale seemed to be just going through the motions, Great D by UMD also stymied the few chances. UMD goalie played well for the deserved shutout.

Would love to try Jessie's have never been there maybe after our game that where we will do dinner!
$180 with tip for four with two drinks each. Pepper encrusted NY Strip was excellent. Surprising amount of seafood dishes. Good beer selection.

Good call on Jessie’s just like you described and yes seafood is excellent. Their buffet is top notch. Cheers!

Jekyll and Hyde weekend, nice forecheck on a seemingly disinterested UNH team. UNH finally got on the cycle in the third, but two quick answers by Yale sealed the deal. Kazperski played well, not sure if he was screened on the second goal, if not, it was a softy.

Congrats on a nice bounce back win! Good luck the rest of the way! Thanks for enjoying what Hanover/Lebanon has to offer and coming out to the Ledyard!
