Yale Hockey 2010

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

The online feed is through Princeton. Go to their hockey page and you can't miss it.

I don't see why you guys are whining about the goaltending or predicting Yale will lose. When are you going to get it? whether Yale wins or loses has nothing to do with who is in net. As long as the offense is clicking, they are going to win. And it's not like Allain has shown he is hesitant to make a change if he has to. After last weekend, he said he doesn't see a reason to have the same goalie start every game and he's fine going with three. Blase is undefeated because the team is undefeated since he started playing. He really isn't any better than Maricic. They are both solid. Malcolm got a chance against Clarkson and didn't do well. So maybe he has it down to two now. But Maricic is very good when he is on, better than Blase in my opinion.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Hard to judge the goals without being there or watching the feed, but either way Blase is going to be in there next period. Maybe this is Allain's twisted MO. Let them fall behind, change goalies, and watch the magic happen.

Normally I would be worried after being down 2 in the first. But with this team, anything is possible(Colgate, Clarkson);)

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Did anyone hear pregame show? What did Allain say about gaolie situation. Blasé still on bench as second period starts.

Update: 4-1 Princeton.

My argument is that since Blase got his first start of year Yale is undefeated.
I don't think that is by chance. In fact I wouldnt be surprised if the team is demoralized having had the freshman giving up 4 goals on what 12 shots. You don't rally behind a freshman, you rally behind the senior

Maricic continue to give up tasty rebounds

All I heard was that he said he would "give Nick the start tonight". But I didnt hear all of it. Blase hasn't really impressed me either, but at 4-1 now. KEITH ALLAIN PLEASE HERE ME. STOP YOUR FATHER - SON RELATIONSHIP WITH NICK MARICIC. PUT IN ANOTHER GOALIE. 4 goals on 12 shots . THATS .666 SV. %

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

PS- it's not second guessing when you've been shouting it for a week

Backman continues to impress and score. 4-2 now

update: now 4-3 on pp goal. Maybe we should just perma-pull our goalie and go with 6 skaters as our game plan

WOW

4-4. Hat trick for Backman? Radio announcer not sure who scored......apparently it wasn't

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

What did I tell you. The goalie is irrelevant. The only question is when the offense is going to heat up. congrats Yale on its first ever back-to-back Cleary Cups

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

I love this Team.
Does anyone know How close Backman is to Hamilton's record now?

How many does he have, 3 or 4? He needed 5 to tie him I think. I would still have to give Hamilton the slight edge as greatest Bulldog ever though. But Class of 2010 is definitely the best class ever.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

No doubt Hamilton is the greatest Bulldog ever. With the strength of this class I dont even know is the best player from this class.:D

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

I did not get to watch the game as my wife wanted to see a movie tonight. Kind of glad that i did not have to sit through two periods of angst. Those were my dues to go to QU tomorrow night. BTW shutter Island is one of the weirdest movies in my recent memory.

Union Bob, hope you guys knock off Cornell in the playoffs.

Way to go Yale!!!!

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Backman has 77 career goals. Hamilton finished with 80 goals. Hamilton is second on all-time Yale list quite far behind the leader.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

It is still possible for Cornell to share the cup. Tiebreakers only apply to seedings. Yale has #1 seed, and yet still could be co-champs with Cornell.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

You are correct sir, this article from the ECAC website in 2006 proves your point, each school gets to share the cleary Cup, After Yale beating QU your point will be moot.:p And no matter what we are still number one seed due to the sweep of Cornell this year.

Dartmouth and Colgate tied for the regular season title, claiming a share of the William J. Cleary Cup, however the Big Green won the tiebreakers and enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. The Raiders have the No. 2 spot, followed by Cornell at No. 3 and Harvard at No. 4. The top four seeds receive byes for the first round.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Toknight after the playoff positions have been set, remember to look for the ECAC PICK THE PLAYOFFS THREAD . The ECAC PICK THE STANDINGS 2009 CHAMPION will be crowned Sunday AM.
