The Yale team that I saw at Cheel early season actually "wowed" me. They looked really really fast, passed the puck really well, creates chances and dominated the middle ice with their speed and system.. I said that night in December, "mark my words, Yale will be in Lake Placid." Now I'm hoping my notions bode false haha.. Haven't seem them since, it looks like they started to wear out a little in the second half, coupled with issues with scoring depth.. But, their speed is an advantage, and it helped Yale serve Clarkson a rare loss at Cheel already. I am truly expecting a really close and entertaining QF round. Can't wait. Let's go Tech!!!

Hopefully someday I will get up that way. It has been a Jekyll and Hyde season for Yale, when they are good, they are really good, when they are bad they are horribly bad, not even scoring for seven periods at one stretch. Hopefully a little confidence was bred against RPI. Yale also has to stay out of the box to have any chance. I hope you are right about this series.

So far other then one or two stray moments, it has been all Clarkson.. 3-0 after two periods, shots 24-13 Tech... One very very lucky break for Clarkson as a Yale player threw a big elbow and almost blew Nico Sturm's lid off, Yale snaps a shot over Kielly's shoulder and in but JUST after the whistle was blown for the penalty. Keep it up Tech!! Let's gooo!!!

Yale has really stepped their game up in this 3rd frame. 6 minutes remain, still 3-0 Tech. Shots 27-19 Texh.

I am not trying to be rude, but I would suggest starting a game thread either in the score updates area of the site, or on the Division One portion for the next game. I am not sure if there was a Clarkson thread started here this season, but whooping it up in the losing teams season long thread is poor form. Please take this as it was meant, as constructive remarks. Feel free to discuss the games before and after the game here. Whooping it up? Poor form? This is a college hockey forum lol.. Yes i get this is a Yale hockey thread... This thread is like walking into a funeral home anyway honestly, no offense intended lol. Nobody discussing this series, no anticipation. Just a few sad sacks. Oh well. It's all in fun and games. It's a forum bud. Nothing very official about this. Nothing to get bent out of shape over. Sorry if i ruffled anyones feathers, I just expected some return banter. Not a stern word from the principal haha... I will but out, enjoy the rest of your season and future seasons.

You have been on here for a month and now resort to name calling, thanks. I understand that there is no Clarkson thread here, but maybe you should start one. Clarkson is having a decent season, enjoy it like you have been there before.

Name calling.. I'm really sorry to have put you through that. It's not easy being a victim lol. The fact that I've been using the forum for a month is completely irrelevant. I've been reading along this forum for a long time. Again, a forum for discussing college hockey, all it is.. I apologize for breaking your long standing code of "no muddling in other teams threads!!" As far as that little character assassination about me acting as though I've been there (I can play victim too), I've been a diehard since the early 90's, I've been there, many times.

Anyway, here's to hoping for a great game tonight. I expect Yale comes out swinging(somewhat literally...)

No hard feelings and I hope Yale gives the fans a little something to cheer for. I had said previously that Clarkson and QU were the best ECAC teams I have seen this year, (season ticket holder). I am heading to Placid next weekend and if Yale falters I hope to see Clarkson or Brown make some hay up there.

Yup I would like to see Brown make it as well, would be neat. Our house has been booked in Placid for months, so we will be there for the weekend regardless of what happens!

Sounds really nice. We have a crew of about 8 that go every year. We just get a 4 or 5 bedroom house for the weekend, close to town as possible. We were walking distance last year, about a 2 or 3 minute drive this year. It will be a fun party all weekend, hockey almost becomes an after thought lol.. gotta hit Smoke Signals, my favorite place to eat in Placid.. Delta Blue, Pickled Pig and Players for some brews..

A microcosm of the season. Yale could never get over that hump. Down 2-0, come back to 2-2, then that's it. Nothing on the power play and tonight they couldn't kill penalties. Still, a decent effort, but the team was just missing something ever since the UMass game.

We will most likely stick to Saranac depending on the weather. Certainly want to hit the car wash brewery. Also a place called The Shamrock between our cabin and Saranac. Good luck going forward, you have a talented team.
