Yale & Brown @ RPI & Union (11/6, 11/7)

Re: Yale & Brown @ RPI & Union (11/6, 11/7)

I was thinking about ttnorm. IIRC, he was a fan. He did not attend Yale.

Thanks for refreshing the memory... pretty sure it's ttnorm. yaledoc's not bad either...

The first ECAC weekend is always a big weekend. We have some things to learn from last weekend. Let's focus on Friday's game first.

Re: Yale & Brown @ RPI & Union (11/6, 11/7)

Not to mention it being Black Friday. Yale is the only team that has given us a blemish on our record for this game, but it was still an exciting one. Avenge the Freakout loss, and come out firing, RPI. We're a tough team to beat this year, now let's show why.

The only edge I can see for us is that we have played more games and may be a bit more seasoned already. Hopefully we will have a big crowd supporting us but if things go badly early in the game, a big crowd can work against us also. There is no question Yale is a very good team and favored to win the league-but catching them early in the season may just give us the break we need. Of course we need to stay out of the box (we say that every game) and it sure would be nice to see Helfrich back out there as another offensive threat.

If we're missing both Helfrich and Rabbani we're probably screwed, although I saw glimpses of Rabbani in Justin Smith's play this weekend - but Halpern was atrocious out there.

Any chance we can see Zarbo or Jensen out there for Burgdoerfer on Friday? I cringed every time I saw him and he was primarily responsible for giving up the go-ahead goal on Saturday.

I hardly saw Halpern on the video. I agree about Smith.

It surprises me that we haven't rotated the dmen at all this year. (Maybe that was Greg Burgdoerfer. Would anyone have noticed? ;) )

What happened to Halpern's game?! He was great freshman year with Chase and Tyler!

In any case, who knows what will happen. I will be at the game, as I had previously said. Maybe Christian Morrissette will step up.

Thanks, fr joe- - - - - I'll take a compliment anytime....... even a left-
handed one. I have fond recollections of tt norm as well. A very knowledgable
and thoughtful guy with a real gift for writing. I seem to recall that he became very disillusioned with Yale over the Tim Taylor exodus, and I believe
he elected to cross over to the Quinnipiac Bobcats. I know exactly where he used to sit; when I'm at Ingalls on 11/13, 11/14, 11/17, and 11/19, I'll look
for him and provide some follow-up.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for ttnorm. (Being left-handed, I guess most of my compliments turn out left-handed... somehow I'll get that right yet. ;) )

We are such a friendly bunch here on the RPI threads-we welcome everyone to contribute and we are so tolerant. I wonder if we will remain that way in a couple of years when we are back on top kicking the snot out of every opponent?;)

Well he hasn't exactly been getting ice time like he did when he was a freshman...which likely means he isn't getting it done in practice. I am sure Monty and Appert have set out expectations for him and are urging him to keep working hard in practice and in the weight room. Competition at every position...is a very good thing for the program!

I'm not so sure that everyone here "welcomes" SUNY Ithaca fans... :D

From one "doc" to another, I trust (and hope) that you will. As you and
Wicked Slappahs, and especially CMMarkham will recall (she the object of my notorious gaffe on 3/14/09 @08:23), I was rooting for RPI to get to the ECAC final with Yale. By the way, ASSUMING that Wicked is from the Boston area,
he'll be interested in the following anecdote:
As I was walking around (or should I say floating on Cloud Nine) the
hospital on Saturday night wearing my Yale hockey jersey, one of the nurses asked me what I would most like to see happen a) the Red Sox win another
World Series b) the Patriots win another Super Bowl or c) Yale Hockey win
the Frozen Four; after MUCH deliberation I chose c). THAT would be WICKED ****AH. Hoping for an exciting injury-free game Friday, and may the better team win!

Wasn't the actual gaffe in your 5:20 post? :)

I too would prefer "c" over the other alternatives. :D

I stand corrected.Geeeeeez, you RPI folks don't miss a trick. Apologies
to the Board for triggering the "edit button". For those NOT from Boston,
the four edited letters refer to an ultra-filtrate of the kidneys. ROFL.:)

Not having remembered what you wrote back in March, I had to look for it. :)

Now semi-retired Doc. I too am hoping for an exciting injury free game Friday-but I do not want the better team to win-I just want the Home team to prevail:D
