Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

MNUFC kits are meh at best.

Secondary are nicer than the primary.

Considering they had to be "off the rack" they're not bad, it doesn't help that MN isn't used to a front sponsor...the grey jerseys would look better without the strangely located bullseye

"Off the rack"? I guess they didn't have enough time to work with Adidas?

Level 5 Lincoln City becomes the first non-league team to make the quarterfinals of the FA Cup in over a century taking down Burnley 1-0. Their Level 5 brethren Sutton United will have their chance against Arsenal on Monday.

No team gets a pass on kit design. It's the most important item besides on field performance. It's your brand for god sake's! You have to get it right.

Mnufc officially joined mls in august, that isn't enough time for adidas to design a custom jersey

Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

Morning treat: my old flame Fulham's FA Cup tie at the Cottage.

Tempered by Kane's hat trick and Spurs up 3-zip.

Very sharp gold kit for Tottenham. Maybe I'll jump to them from Arsenal, which doesn't seem to be catching my affection.

Or maybe I'll root for both just as a finger in the eye of the North London derby. :)

Yeah I'm sure Adidas was super happy being told to come up with two more jerseys in five months. Granted they did pay for it...

To put in perspective, each MLS team gets one new uniform design each year, one year home and the next the away. Sprinkle in the few teams that need a new alternate and you've only got maybe 26-28 designs a year. Plus expansion teams usually have 2-3 years before they take the field, MNUFC is strange case because they're going on 5-6 months. I mean, LAFC doesn't start until next year but they've been prepping for what? Two years?

Basically from the moment Chivas USA folded in 2014. So by the time they join it'll have been three years.

Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

I'm so hyped/nervous about the EFL Cup final this weekend. It's been a while since we had a realistic shot at silverware.

I'd be more confident with Virgil though since none of our healthy CBs have the height to deal with Zlatan in the air (and Stephens's senior career is still very young so that doesn't help).
