Re: World Soccer XXV - the run up to the World Cup

Only 5 million or so to bid rig the vote?? **** if them boys are some cheap *** ho's!!! with as much money as United States World Cup could generate, they threw all their votes to a sure dud of a host country for so little??

The price is always low when FIFA wants to screw England and the US.

Hell, with the bar so low, you would think that the USA and England could go all SEC football Good Old Boys Booster Network on them and just flat out out bribe the Qutaries to get the World Cup.

Re: World Soccer XXV - the run up to the World Cup

HAHAHAHAHA, New Jersey born striker Giuseppe Rossi has been cut from the Italian World Cup roster again!

Re: World Soccer XXV - the run up to the World Cup

It's nice to see Dempsey in what we like to call "Try S*" mode with that nice nutmeg.

It's a good sign of him being confident. He's been in "Try S*" mode since the start of the season in Seattle.

Re: World Soccer XXV - the run up to the World Cup

Wonder if he does have regrets? Still hilarious though.
I know he loved Italy and "felt Italian" when he made his decision but you have to wonder how much he regrets things now having not made a world cup roster yet. He's 27 now so 2018 will be his last chance most likely.

Re: World Soccer XXV - the run up to the World Cup

I've got no sympathy for Rossi. He made his choice and now has to accept the consequences of that choice. He could've been the man on the U.S. squad. He could've still had his time in the Serie A, but he blew it.

Granted he made his first choice a long time ago and has always played for Italy.

I can't hate a kid for wanting to play for a country with actual opportunity to win hardware.

He just over estimated his ability to make the national team for world cups.

I can hate him for that team being Italy though. Ugh!

Understood, but it's much harder to crack the Italy lineup. He could've been the face of USA soccer. There would be ad campaigns centered around him. I understand playing for Italy. The allure is strong, but I still think he backed the wrong horse.

The 2010 Italian WC coach said his biggest mistake was not selecting Rossi then...
The 2014 Italian WC coach isn't selecting him due to his recovering form an injury...

Oh, I completely agree...I can't imagine an American born player choosing a different country to attempt to represent in Soccer. And for everyone that says this is two-faced for all the foreign-born to american service men players America has had over the years...I think its different. I can't imagine too many of those players really had a chance to represent their home country.

And they didn't pick me because I'm a no talent hack, and not italian.

Net result is I have the same number of WC appearances as Rossi. :D
