“Most challenging World Cup”
I mean, maybe the game against France...
They had to beat 5 UEFA sides, including the hosts and the European champions.
On paper maybe? It just seemed like, outside of France and maybe Spain, nobody really was up to the challenge of the US. 1995, 1999, and even 2011 were far more challenging World Cups than this one.And those 5 sides finished 2nd (Netherlands), 3rd (Sweden), 4th (England), 5th (France), and 12th (Spain). Pretty impressive group they had to go through.
2011 was especially challenging since they lost to Japan. On paper maybe? It just seemed like, outside of France and maybe Spain, nobody really was up to the challenge of the US. 1995, 1999, and even 2011 were far more challenging World Cups than this one.
Also had to go to PKs against Brazil, needing a late tying goal to go to PKs. Plus a loss to Sweden in the group stage.2011 was especially challenging since they lost to Japan.

The Dutch, in the belief of a truly equal society, will lose in a Women’s World Cup Final now.
