CONCACAF needs VAR desperately.

Just saw it, and as an anti-authoritarian, that was tea all the way. I think you really have to be looking for something or being anti-USA to see the "toking" aspect of the celebration.

Do smokers raise their pinky? Given the opponent and the raised pinky, that's gotta be tea.

Finally saw the contact on the penalty after a million replays. It's definitely not obvious. I know there are some who think any contact should be a penalty. Here I think the minor contact warrants one for throwing off White's leg thus denying a scoring chance.

I only saw it live for an instant. If there's a raised pinky that's tea. It's a lot funnier anyway.

While I was at the theater to see Spiderman (projection issues canceled the show :( ) I learned that Sunday's Women's World Cup final will be shown at Smitty's at noon.

Meanwhile, the Dutch and Swedes renew their ancient rivalry

I’m rooting for the Dutch just for the possibility of the hilarious irony that the Netherlands first World Cup would be a women’s title.

Did Clockwork Orange really never win a title? How weird. What, did they silver three times or something?

Edit: CO did silver twice in 74 (W Ger) and 78 (Argentina). Then a later Dutch team lost in 2010 (Spain). That genuinely shocks me; it's like the Hungarian juggernaut never winning (stupid World War).

Yup the Dutch Men’s and Women’s teams have the exact same number of major titles: a European Championship each (Men in 1988 and Women in 2017).

The Dutch taking Women’s Soccer seriously is a scary prospect for the rest of the world. For perspective, this is the Netherlands second ever WWC appearance. Their first was 2015.
