That's Man U time. If you read the FA's rule book:

39.1.3: If Manchester United is losing or tied in a game, the announced injury time will be four (4) minutes or greater, and the actual injury time will be at least one and a half (1.5) times the announced injury time. Alternatively, should Manchester United score to take the lead prior to the completion of the announced injury time, the game will end at the next opportunity.


Also, between Inzaghi and Seedorf, Milan is like a geriatric team. They would have been amazing back in 2000.

There was only supposed to be 4 minutes of stoppage time. I have no idea what happened with the extra minutes of stoppage. The ref had about a half dozen chances to blow the whistle, but he must have had a bet on United.

Ultimately, United deserves the 3 points, but City got screwed.

Were you watching the game? There was 30 seconds added because of carrick coming on and about a minute because of City's celebration after bellamy scored. On top of that given and richards wasted as much time as they could so the ref probably wasn't hurrying to blow the whistle.

There was too much time added in my opinion.

Webb just blew a no-call on a penalty shout by Robbie Keane. Clear penalty on the replay.

Absolutely ridiculous no call and its given chelsea the win. I'm not really sure what to make of chelsea, they're obviously playing great right now, but they have a pretty old squad and a lot of key players with poor attitudes. They have a lot of european pressure on them as well.

If you go by the media reports, it's not as egregious as it looks. They've accounted for 1:25 in additional added time. That's probably a little on the high side, but not so much as to not be justifiable, particularly when you consider that there's already about a minute of float just based on what the 4th official can signal (i.e. with '4' signaled, it could just as easily be 4:30 planned as 4:00 even).

First off, there should never have been four minutes of stoppage play. Secondly, the Bellamy celebration was exaggerated as far as how long it took. I heard some comment that it was a minute or longer, and I didn't feel it was that long.

Ultimately, City and Hughes were too worried about the ref blowing his whistle, and left Owen wide open. They should only blame themselves. Myself as a fan though, will cry and moan about how there was too much stoppage time :p:):)

It was a great Derby, but I wish City would have been able to take away the point after an amazing comeback.

I can't comment on that. I'm operating from the assumption that this signal was reasonable and may reasonably have indicated a plan to add as much as 4:30 (more than that is theoretically possible but much more likely to have been signaled as 5:00 and blown dead on the stroke of that number).

I think there's enough float for only 0:30 to have been added for that celebration.

It was a great Derby, but I wish City would have been able to take away the point after an amazing comeback.

Same here. ManU having the upper hand all the time gets boring after a while, though I'm not exactly fond of teams buying a championship the way Chelski did and now Al Citeh is trying to do.

When it's been over 40 years since our last title, I am willing to accept a purchased one :D:D

Saying that, I don't think it happens this year. I'm hopeful though.

Just tonight, I FINALLY (over two years later) figured out how to use my DVD-R to finish up the burn of my recording of Fulham's 2-1 win over Arsenal from November 2006. I loved the personality that season's team had, even if they wound up in a relegation scrape (though not nearly as close a shave as the 2007-08 team, of course). Next up: the 2-2 draw with Chelsea from last December when Clint scored late to steal a point. :D

But, that's a better penalty effort than I've seen by some players! :D

He sure got to run around and enjoy himself for awhile without any stewards or anyone trying to stop him.

Because of the political unrest in Honduras, not to mention the closure of the four major airports there this week, the U.S. Soccer Federation is keeping an eye on the situation as it plans for the national team's trip to San Pedro Sula for the World Cup qualifier Oct. 10.

"We are obviously monitoring the situation closely and are in discussions with the appropriate officials at CONCACAF and FIFA who will determine if the location of the match will be moved," spokesman Neil Buethe told the Insider.

USSF officials wouldn't speculate, but with the match just 17 days away and numerous logistical and transportation issues to address, a decision to change the site would have to be made soon.

So, what other stadiums are out there that would be free on the 10th of October? There should be quite a few NFL stadiums out there that would be free with their home team away that weekend. Would just depend on them not having anything like a consert going on.

After a concerning opeining game and the loss to Vienna in Europa, Villa have come on strong the last few...not a blowout today but a win in the Carling Cup...their fade last year will keep me cautious throughout but they are where I hoped they would be about this time...losing those 3 points in the first week is painful considering how they have done since. Hopefully MON has them deep enough that they aren't wheezing to the finish again.
