Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!
For all of that, this so-called "inferior competition that we should have handled easily" has performed no worse (or better) against everyone else in our region. El Salvador has not lost by more than one on the road (and we have one more point against them away than Costa Rica and Mexico combined), and T&T scored two goals in losing to CR and has not lost at home to anyone else.
The El Salvador game was closer to being 4 - 0 in our favor than it was to being 2 - 2. We didn't bring our finishing boots, if we had that game would have been a blow-out.As for the US, let's look at our last few meaningful games...
We play sloppy and barely hold on against T&T.
We have to come from behind to beat El Salvador after falling behind early, and then turtle the last 15-20 minutes to barely hold on.
Both of those two games were against inferior competition that we should have handled easily.

If that's not their best football, then their best would be truly frightening. That's the same Brazil team that steamrolled Italy 3 - 0 in group play. They are a very, very good team.We start strong against Brazil and are up 2-0 at half, and then we turtle and get pounded in the 2nd half against a Brazilian side that wasn't even playing its best football.
