It's a 50/50 chance, based on the previous year's tournament. Teams 1,4,5,8,9 are place in one group, Teams 2,3,6,7, and the new qualifier are in the other group. So if Canada had won today, the Russians would have been in the US group, and Canada would be in the other.

They are flipping Canada's group for the WJC with Toronto and Montreal in 2017. So Canada will play the prelims in one arena and then the medal round in the other. Plus you can book your tickets for the WJC 2017 when purchasing tickets for 2015
