I can't believe I didn't get it in 3. I had to repeat a letter guess violating my own hard(er) mode rules.
 
In my opinion I failed today. I didn't technically (got it on the 4th "try") because things I started guessing weren't words. Lol. I don't know, my brain just couldn't see it today. Strange.
 
Interesting, I did not know there was a "hard mode" to this game. It looks like hard mode is turned off, and you have to toggle it on.

Apparently the only difference between the two is that if your guess reveals a clue, like a correct letter or a correct placement of a letter, you have to use that letter in your subsequent guesses. That is, you can't guess "soare" in guess #1 and learn that "s" is used somewhere in the correct response, and then guess "pound" in the second guess. You'd have to use an "s" somewhere in your guess.

I imagine that most people have been playing in hard mode, whether it was turned on or not, but I'll admit I've thought about just guessing a word with five new letters even after I know one correct letter. I've just never done it because it seems like a wasted guess.
 
I've been playing in hard mode for a long while. I also have additional rules for myself where I must use and follow all information I've learned from prior guesses. So, if I get a "right letter, wrong place" I can't guess words with that that letter in that wrong place. I've had to violate that rule once or twice now.
 
I failed the one on the 13th. Didn't play yesterday. Today was interesting in that I was able to find all the letters in it without having one in the right spot.

Earlier a list of four words was posted containing 19 different letters. Here is a list containing 20 different letters from a YouTube video: tubes, fling, champ, wordy. The missing letters are j, k q, v, x, and z.

That is a darn good list. If you can't anagram from that....
