Women's Hockey News & Insight: The Hockey Writers "Fishwrapper" Thread

Re: Women's Hockey News & Insight: The Hockey Writers "Fishwrapper" Thread

while I wouldn't rate the Nameless ones over the Badgers, she brings up a good point that seems to be escaping nearly everyone, UND does have a very good blueline corp, and their goaltending may very well be not only the best in the WCHA, it may be the best in the nation.
If one or two of last years young forwards has a big year, which is quite possible, UND could be much better than most are giving them credit for. They should be in the hunt for a NCAA tourney spot, but if things fall into place, they could be a contender. contender= usually there are 4 - 6 teams head & shoulders above the rest.

Poulin? I thought that distinction belonged to Karvinen.
Well it's Keller, obviously. The author of that article must have missed the memo.

Which is possible...It's Grand Forks, North Dakota don't cha know...

Are they still on dial up in North Dakota?
The irony is that from a technical standpoint, the production out of North Dakota is likely as polished as any in the country.

Plus, I've always enjoyed their audio play-by-play. It is nice to listen to a voice that has actually called a hockey game before.

I agree. I think they take pretty good care of their women's hockey team at UND from the audio/video/press/web standpoint.

My op-ed for today, if you're ranking based on personal expectations, estimations, calculations or gut feelings of the teams capabilities...not necessarily results achieved thus far, I can perhaps fathom these rankings. If you alternately base your rankings upon an observance of actual results and pertinent considerations...these rankings are "suspect" in my opinion. With the "suspect" characterization being pretty diplomatic, I feel. Interesting to read nonetheless.

Good morning. :)

Note that they were made prior to the most recent weekend of results. While I mostly agree with your characterization, any ranking at this point requires a lot of guesswork.

They were the rankings from Friday, to be fair. Although ten bucks says they drop Wisconsin from the rankings entirely after last weekend.
