Quinnipiac plays legit defense, third in the NCAA in goals against. We will need all the offense we can get, and Laila's play at forward on Saturday certainly created some good chances for the brief time in the second period when she was moved up. Hard to believe MJ didn't see it. So, fingers crossed ...

Q is going to be a tough out. They have a great goalie and 1 high powered shooter. Their top 3 scorers are F's, the next 4 are D, that is very interesting. One D has more G than A. They average 3.41 gf and 1.59ga. pp 16%, pk 88%.

That top scorer, Kahlen Lamarche - a top ten Patty Kaz - accounts for a higher percentage of their goals than Abby Murphy does for Minnesota. Shut her down, and chances of success go up a good deal.

I don't think there is an ego problem. Did that make for inaccurate passing? They had no time and space. It's all about puck possession. Main faceoff people.....Sappy 6 out 18, Picard 9 out of 15, Hall 13 out of 28. If you lose faceoffs and pass the puck not to your teammates......UW needs to return the favor if they get the chance to.

The 2nd period was a train wreck. I don't know if the short change had anything to do with it.

It sucks to lose to a see-ing eye goal, but I think this will ground them in a good way. If you escape with the W, it doesn't really do you much good.

I sat right on the glass behind the bench. I didn't see anything like that. They were constantly talking with each other when they would come off the ice, everyone encouraging each other and talking with coaches. Pieckenhagen was up and down the bench multiple times encouraging, even though she didn't get much ice time.

Marky J has channeled his inner Badger Bob for almost all of his coaching career and it has served him/us well. The inner Herb Brooks is there, too. Time for Herb to return from the grave - from his effing grave.
