Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

On the game tying goal, 3 Badgers let the attacker speed right by them down the boards uncontested. Goals 1 and 3 the defenders lost track of a shooter. All fixable.

Hall had a rough game. 2 stick reachy trips and squandered great looks. She a resilient one.

Super annoying to lose points in a tight race for the title.

Greenie said on the broadcast that he will be on the bench today instead of in the booth. The reason was, that Johnson (or as the girls call him, Marky J) will not be there today.

Biggest game of the year today in Marky j is not in the house. Yikes. I do think Greenie and hello Marky j have the same mentality as far as staying calm.

Line chart is posted, and Halverson is not on it. Jones listed at forward, and five defenders. Milewski says she's on crutches... Jeez...

Take away first period Friday and it's probably a sweep.

Pretty dominant looking for the rest of the 5 periods. Hall with redemption today after some penalties Friday. She's such a good player and would be hands down the best player in a lot of (most) other programs.

Very encouraged by how they looked this weekend as this is the nucleus of next year's team.

Now we come to the test.

The flip side to that on Friday is that with the exception of a one-minute stretch, the Badgers were in that mode where they totally dominate the flow of play but they don't change the scoreboard at all. Whenever they play a game like that, I get a mental image of Sarah Nurse sniping the plexiglass on a breakaway. When they enter the third period with a lead but wind up losing, it's tough to blame that loss solely on the first period. How many of the goals on Friday would McNaughton have likely saved -- possibly both the 2nd and the 3rd?

My comment had nothing to do with anything specific that happened in the first period or the goal that Minnesota scored.

It was more that the Badgers took most of that period to get their bearings and flow. To realize that it was up to those present to step up and get it done and for their game to catch up to that realization.

Once that happened, the ice was mostly tilted in the Badgers' favor the rest of the weekend. Had they been ready to go at the start of game one, I like their chances for a sweep.

Shoulda coulda woulda... doesn't matter. Gophers got the win and earned it.

My thoughts were more hope for the future - both the near future of these next three weekends and also for next season when they lose so much high end talent.

Great learning experience and confidence builder for the Badgers.
