that VERY interesting. there must be a blue-chip we've overlooked? someone also like a Labate?

I wish I knew. All I heard was that they were still actively recruiting for the upcoming year.

72nd on the newest Redline Report. Does he happen to be a left handed defensemen? Sure could use one for the power play if they even have room for this season.

Parents are UW grads and he grew up rooting for the Badgers. Good to see that.

Badgerhawk: Did you suffer any house damage from the Kaukauna tornado?

Brad Navin had 6 points in 3 games for Team Wisconsin in the senior tournament in his first games back from that knee injury. Sounds like he's playing well.

I guess the first game of that Minnesota NIT tournament was like an exhibition or something so the earlier stats I posted for Navin weren't correct. Here are the stat leaders for Team Wisconsin at the senior tourney. Team Wisconsin finished 1-2 this year after winning it all last year.

Ryan Dau (Hudson)-6 pts (6a) -Has visited Holy Cross and Princeton
Brad Navin (Waupaca)-5 pts (4g, 1a) -Wisconsin Recruit
Alexander Dahl (Eau Claire Memorial)-5 pts (2g, 3a) -brother of Jefferson
Evan Janssen (Green Bay United)-3 pts (1g, 2a)

Big update tonight from Baggot about a possible replacement for Murray. Sounds like Eaves has St. Albert Steel (Alberta Junior Hockey League) forward Reed Linaker in his sights should Murray opt for Switzerland. He was in for a visit last month.

Like I posted on the blog tonight, it will be interesting to see if they offer him for 2012 if Murray decides to stay at UW. 2012 will see the Badgers lose Murray and Ryan Little to graduation, and most likely Craig Smith as an early departure. They bring elite forward recruits Nic Kerdiles from the USA NTDP and Morgan Zulinick from Salmon Arm in the BCHL as well as possibly Corbin McGuire and Brad Navin.

You can never have too many weapons...

is McGuire considered a 2012 OR 2013? I had always thought he was 2012 locked

Ryan Little redshirted in 2009/10 and won't be graduating after this season, but Eric Springer will.

You're right. USCHO roster page screws me again.

McGuire had originally committed for 2012 but he took a step backwards this season with that concussion and basically had a wasted year of development. He'll probably still end up 2012 but I'm not sure it's the lock it once was.

USHL futures draft (1995 born players only) was today. Only Wisconsin born player to be selected was GB Notre Dame Academy forward Jason Reynolds who played for TW minor this year. He was selected by Youngstown 63rd overall. The Phantoms love Wisconsin kids.

Hudson defenseman Travis Wood who plays for Hill Murray high school in the cities wasn't selected, all but confirming his intentions on playing in the OHL.

Two Wisconsin born 1995's are already spoken for in the USHL. Ian McCoshen (Hudson) already plays for Waterloo and Will Butcher (Sun Prairie) has committed to the NTDP for next year.

When are those two defensemen going to commit to UW? Come on guys, you know you want to play for the best!

Is McCoshen a junior this year and Butcher a sophomore?

I'm 95% sure McCoshen and Butcher are both Sophomores this season, aka they will graduate in 2013.

Joe's son?

I don't know for sure but the age/location/name is a perfect match.

Bring him in. I want 3 solid lines that can score, not 1. Of course there will alredy be 15 forwards on he roster, but none of the incoming Fr have the same talent as Linaker.

Barnes
Clark
Dahl
Hartzog
Lee
Little
Mersch
Meuer
Murray
Smith
Zengerlee

LaBate
Lapic
Paape
Woods

But there are actually 16 forwards ALREADY if Murray stays. You forgot the other Little. Linanker makes 17 which means 5 forwards are in suits every night.
