Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

Not overly worked up over this as we have limited scholarship dollars/spots going forward and have a roster full of bottom 6 (or worse) forwards. We need guys that can actually put the puck in the net and play a top 6 role way more.

Me neither. However, with his numbers, I'm surprised the Gophs took him. Maybe his age for "experience"?

That said, I'm still ****ed about Condon, the Schmaltz', and on and on............

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

Seamus Malone has hat tricks in back-to-back games for Dubuque in the USHL. Up to 10th in USHL scoring with 23 goals and 54 points in 52 games. 10 points in his last four games, including five points last night.

For whatever it's worth, Brock Boeser ranks 7th in points (30 goals, 57 points), and Tyler Sheehy 16th (17 goals, 49 points).

I should add, Wisconsin has four recruits playing at USA Hockey Nationals this week (all at the U16 level). Mick Messner (Team Wisconsin), Tyler Inamoto (Shattuck), along with Dom Mersch and Joey Abate (Mission).

Shattuck off to a 2-0 start while Mission and Team Wisconsin are 1-1. Messner (1g, 1a), Mersch (1g, 1a).

Hopefully Malone can light it up for UW but man does this highlight and underscore what could have been for UW. Boeser, Malone and Sheehy could really have helped turn the ship around...but Malone by himself, that's going to be a hell of an uphill battle on a team that currently has but one proven scorer (Besse).

Saw Eaver today out scouting. While that's not entirely surprising, I wasn't expecting to see him watching a game with Bill Butters.

Is Jack Andringa someone who is A) D1 material, and B) getting any interest from UW? I'd love to know what his Dad thinks of the state of the UW program.

Good question, I'd love to know how Andringa feels about the state of the program...or for that matter any of a number of former badgers

I can't speak for Andringa, since I don't know him personally, but I've had a number of other alumni reach out to me privately...unanimous concern and utter disgust.

They need to express this to Barry and the AD. You would think this alone would get some action.....apparently Barry doesn't care.

And I'm assuming it's not just alumni with an axe to grind, but also alumni who were previously very much publicity pro-Eaves. Perhaps even some who were in his corner during his time of transition...

I doubt if Eaves has many allies with strong ties to the school left, I particularly wonder how those coached by Eaves feel about the situation.

They absolutely need to be calling Alvarez. This entire situation is just distasteful.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

Sources have indicated that Kunin doesn't currently poses an ACT score to gain admittance to the University. Given the fact Kunin is trying to accelerate his studies to join the Badgers for next fall, the ACT news isn't very encouraging at this moment.

Well, then.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

Well, then.

I don't know... Why would anyone sign a NLI to a school they can't get into? If you don't get admitted the NLI can be voided but you may not find that out until September if the school chooses to delay notifying you. Something is very strange about that.

On the other hand, I believe you can retake the ACT up to 12 times if necessary. If true in the first place, perhaps he was just a few points off and is confident of meeting the requirement?

Well at least we have Boeser coming... Oh crap.

Maybe Bo or Alveraz....better make it Bo since Alvarez could care less about hockey....can ask coach Cal this weekend who he had take the ACT for Derrick Rose?
