Max Zimmer is playing for Sioux City this week over at the Junior Club World Cup in Russia. He was a scratch in game one, but was inserted in the lineup today and scored.

As far as I know he plans on playing high school this season (Wayzata), but this is nice experience.

If anyone wants to get a look at the future, US NTDP recruits Luke Kunin (F) and Luke Opilka (G) are playing against Muskegon tonight and the game can be streamed for FREE on FastHockey.com.

I'm not sure if FastHockey.com is offering it for free like the USA game, but Brock Boeser (Waterloo) is playing Seamus Malone (Dubuque) tonight as well at 7:35.

Max Zimmer was traded for Matt Berkovitz yesterday. Berkovitz to Sioux City, Zimmer to Chicago.

Stillwell and Parsells looked pretty good this weekend in the times that I saw them. Mersch didn't do much.

Penticton opened their season this weekend. A couple 16 year old kids that have visited Madison got off to decent starts. Tyson Jost (F) has 3 goals and 3 assists in his first 2 games. Dante Fabbro (D) managed 4 assists.

For the record I don't know if Jost has been on campus yet. Was supposed to come with Fabbro last year but there was some conflict so he didn't make the trip.

Adams Parcells is a Grade C prospect according to the NHL CSS list.

I'm not sure this is directly related to UW at the moment, but question for Chuck:

Have you seen Brock Caufield play and if so what sort of potential do you think he has?

Yeah, I've seen him a handful of times. He's got some nice skills. I think it's really too early to make a projection on a kid like him though. He's good, but not elite. I'll have a better idea after this season.

Brock Boeser and Luke Opilka will skate in the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game Thursday in Buffalo. The game will be on NHL Network at 6 PM CT.

Good chance to get a look at two recruits who should be fairly high NHL picks next summer.

Boeser had an assist and Opilka was really good in net....30 minutes and stopped 22 of the 23 shots he saw.
