Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

Since we were talking about MN HS teams and WI HS teams recently, I thought I would give you guys a heads-up that Superior plays Hermantown (my pick to win Class A this year and a Top 10 MNHS team in my rankings) tonight.

Game streamed HERE at 7:30pm.

Whom did Hermantown beat to deserve a top 10 ranking in the state?

You only say this because of my nationality. If I was an overage Canadian, you'd be excited. It's discrimination, I tell ya! (btw- Do Americans ever emigate to Canada? Or is that strictly a one way street? ...eh?)

Regardless, you guys are failing to see the genius in this. Think of the media frenzy, the millions in free publicity! And when I seal the NC game with the ol' Knuckle Puck it's instant Disney Movie. And for that we're talking GROSS POINTS! None of that back end money they always screw you on. Be enough to build a new rink, maybe even buy part of Canada and start our own Canadian Hockey Farm. You guys just gotta open your minds and think BIG! McBadgerton in '14!

FWIW, Waterloo's Blake Winiecki, who I listed on the 12 potential options, committed to St. Cloud State today. Wisconsin did not show much interest in him at all.

Christian Dvorak had surgery last week to repair a torn ACL. He's out for the season.

Obviously, if I were Mrs. Bielma, I'd say "karma". But I'm not.

Hopefully he'll recover 100%. Despite his backing out of UW I still hope he does well. Appears his OHL season ends with 33gp 6g 8a.

I was looking for some news to break during this off week, but this isn't it, yet. Get back to work Chuck!

I agree, hoping the best for the kid. He's a hell of a talent, I've watched with my own eyes. Put on a show in Blaine one day when I was there last year.

From behind the scenes, all accounts are that he's a good kid too. If he was an orphan he'd still be on track for Madison. Father pushed the OHL button.

[Secretly dark comment]
Every kid is different, but it's always good to know where we went wrong on this one.

I see where you're going here.

Turns out I have an Italian friend who makes Italian shoes. Makes them so well, he never has any repeat business. Guaranteed!

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

Sheehy is not going to happen, fwiw.

As long as that means we get Cameron Hughes in the end...I can live with that (I've gotten the feeling that there isn't enough money to land both). I'll be extremely disappointed if we end up with neither as each seem the most capable of coming in and playing a top 6 role sooner then later (or then most other options).

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

Oh, snap. Mr. Ramsey might wait a year to come in and that would leave us with one spot...
