I've seen smaller guys play with more energy in grinder roles than some of their bigger counterparts. I'd say it is a case by case basis and depends a lot on what you gave out for a scholarship in each situation. Not sure I buy your logic on what is a lesser risk. It's not quite that easy.
That's just what I mean. Easy for everyone to say go out and get a bunch of high skill smaller guys because they'll stick 4 years and yadda, yadda, yadda... But the risk is a lot more with a smaller kid generally. You figure you get a 6'2" kid that can skate and you'll find something to do with him. Anyway, when I see a smaller guy that's really good I'm always curious about how they were recruited and developed. Thanks for the input.
