great encapsulation, thanks!

looks like several intriguing prospects out there.

...I wonder why Sheehy is off the radar...

There's more out there that I didn't have time to list. Brian Williams is a good example....96 out of California who will play with Omaha in the USHL this year.

Promised you guys a blog post on some options, here it is. Sorry it took longer than expected.

There's some great information in there! Hopefully UW can get some of the best of that bunch.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

Our last Euro prospect worked out pretty ****ed well for us. Bring on the Sverges and Norges!

Siren, Bruckler, Katlaps (who Andy Baggott informs us today has died of stomach cancer :(. He was a young fella @ 45 years old) or am I missing someone?

He's obviously referring to Yuri Gusak.

Was told Cameron Hughes (Spruce Grove, AJHL) is a player we need to keep an eye on. Late 96 but will graduate this year and could be a '14 option. Source I spoke with called him an A+ skater, and a player who is about to blow up. Some big name schools already after him hard, although at least one of those schools doesn't have a '14 forward spot. I'll let you figure out which.

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXVI: Make him an offer he can't refuse

Training camps in the BCHL started Monday and their showcase is September 6-8th. There was a tweet from the BCHL yesterday mentioning Gary Shuchuk will be in attendance at the showcase (there were 200 coaches/scouts there last year, so he won't be alone!). Also, Seamus Malone and Keegan Ford are in Russia with Dubuque for the Junior Club World Cup which starts Sunday. They played an Exhibition game vs. CSKA Red Army losing 4-1 with Seamus Malone notching the only Dubuque goal on a power play. He also was head butted during the game, which is something you don't hear too often.

I think Chuck should attend with bi-hourly reports.

Chuck....what do you think about UW going after Landon Smith? '93 who spent 2 years in USHL with CR and Chicago. Was reportedly decommitted by Monty when he took the DU job. He will play for Salmon Arm of the BCHL this year. Good skill and speed but a bit of a perimeter player.

I mean, never say never obviously. You have a better read for his game than I do. I know a lot of people liked him before he got to the USHL...his play since has left much to be desired from what I've heard.

I trust Shuey to make a solid evaluation and decision. Look at the forwards he has recruited since he's been here: Besse, Malone, Dvorak, Soleway, Boeser, Kunin, Wagner, Freytag. Pretty good looking group. Let's see what he can do.

Pretty cool feature here -- Seamus Malone is blogging for NHL.com from Russia at the Jr. Club World Cup.

I believe the coaches landed another high end recruit today. News will break soon.

Seamus Malone and Keegan Ford named to the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game

Wausau West forward Kevin Conley just committed to Denver. Nice player, 97-born. Great shot.
