Re: Wisconsin Recruiting: Filling the foundation with 5 stars

You happen to know what team(s) he played for the couple of winters before he got to STA?

I know he played for the Wisconsin Fire AAA team out of Somerset, that was probably bantams. Not sure before that. Same program that guys like Cammarata played at before they went to Shattuck.

Thanks. It seems like kids are playing on so many different teams over the course of a year nowadays it's hard to keep track of what the primary ones are.

but I'd take the opportunity to get the Harvard education if I were him.

Harvard, meh. UW's degree isn't nothing to sneeze at. Ivy League = Over-rated.

Didn't a really good player from WI named MacDonald go to Harvard in the late 80's?

Not sure if it is who you are thinking of, but Lane MacDonald went to school in Wisconsin, then played college hockey at Harvard in that time frame. He didn't amount to much though...just won something called a Hobey and captained his team to some NCAA Championship. :p:D:D

Lane wasn't from Wisconsin though...perhaps that is why he wound up at Harvard.

That's that dude I was thinking of. He was kinda a flop like Hull and Hrkac, referencing back to the UW/UMD thread.

Grant Besse was held scoreless and was -2 with 2 shots in his USHL debut last night for the Omaha Lancers in a 6-1 loss to Green Bay.

Wisconsin receives a verbal from 1992 born Aiden Cavallini (Brookings, NAHL). Hard-nosed guy according to his coach. Will have quotes on the blog later.

Update: Quotes are up from his assistant coach. Seems like the replacement for Ryan Little to me. (LINK)

Any idea on when he'll arrive on campus?

Geno Cavallini was the coach of Nodak when the infamous water bottle game happened

both PB and Howie discuss Geno's lack of control over his players during the melee and subsequent instances where nodak goons continue to skate toward the UW bench

That was Gino Gasparini that coached North Dakota.

Gino Cavallini is the father of Wisconsin recruit Aidan.
