Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

I remember when the biggest problem that we faced as a fan base was who we hated more, UND or Minnesota. Now we complain about concession prices to each other.

The mighty really have fallen, haven't we?

Oh, well. Puck drops in 2 hours.

I hate the rodents and the sue equally. And I hate the eastern elitist snobs we are playing this weekend too.

Let's go RED!

Agree. Think they're too good to use all 26 letters in the alphabet.

Lace 'em up tight boys and give those Bean eating Tea dumpers a little payback. On Wisconsin!

As long as we are cycling back to actually talking hockey, what is/was the arguement that North Dakota was a more hated rival than Minnesota? Does it stem from the brawl at the Coliseum? I came here as a student in the late 80's (post-brawl) and for me it's been Minnesota from Day 1 and it's not close.

For me, I started watching in the very early 80's and the Sioux were THE rivals at the time that I remember. Minnesota was a later developing rivalry.

Oh, and we were down 12 seconds into the game tonight. Ugh.

And now 2-0, 4:39 in after BC scores on a dump in.

Miller pulled and looks to be on his way to his medical career.

Good start against the "youngest" team in college hockey.

Our youth and inexperience will certainly be to blame after the game.

6-0 BC. Back to the discussion of stadium revenues before we have to think about depressing results of the evening.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

I come in peace. Who is your best player?

Luke Kunin! Actually, I'm not totally sure about that, because it partly comes from the fact that he's a freshman, so I'm probably under-emphasizing returning guys. Like Besse. But riding and fueling the Luke Kunin hype train.

I don't have strong opinions on a definitive answer to your question.

It was quite clear that BC outmatched UW in just about every aspect of the game.

Which is pathetic. Eaves has no excuse for this. And the fanbase and university should accept no excuse about being outclassed like UW has been on the ice lately.

Fire Eaves, fire Alvarez and get it done now before the damage is irreparable and the best UW can hope for is to someday be in the mix for 3rd or 4th place in a wussy b10 conference.

EDIT: seriously, getting smoked by the best teams shows you where UW is and it's nowhere. I could understand this happening in the first two years with a new coach and system but not in the 13th year unless the Wisconsin administration is...zzzzz, asleep

Luke Kunin has the most talent, but he's only 17. He will be a top 20 draft pick next summer though. Cameron Hughes and Kevin Schulze are the best skaters. Grant Besse is the best in the offensive zone when he's on, which is only part of the time so far in his career.

I listened while attending some Florida HS Football (which went double OT) so I didn't follow that closely. Hard to fathom what went wrong for Adam Miller early on tonight.

Sounded like the BC forecheck gave us fits which is just what I was most worried about going in. Interested to see if there's any bounce back in the boys tomorrow night.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Most of what I have seen you post gives me that impression. Care to offer a different stance?

I care about the program and until I see positive changes I will continue to voice my opinion. I am realistic in that I don't see concessions changing or prices getting lower, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't say anything.

For example, I don't want Friday seats anymore, but one of the guys I went with did. You think they would allow me to transfer them to his name easily? No they say they can't blah blah blah. Eventually after complaining and calling enough and moving up the chain we got it done. But that just shows they don't get it. Someone actually wants tickets and they make it difficult.....

The games in Boston this weekend are a great opportunity to make a statement to the casual fan that this year's team is ultimately worth watching at some point. Another couple of a--kickings out there just feels like more of the same.

I guess just more of the same. Listened to the first 10 minutes of the game and that was enough for one night.
