Wisko McBadgerton;6031341. According to Chase Drake on the WHH Eaves is installing a more pressuring forecheck and even the vets are on a steep learning curve. [/QUOTE said:

I think you alluded to it earlier, but it makes sense to go with what you've got. Basically a pretty good d-corp and goalie that might cover up some mistakes. And without dominating lines our best course is probably to try and manufacture some chances through pressure. If you're big, strong and can score off set pieces you don't necessarily have to play this way, but for this year's team, I totally agree it's the way to go. Could get even uglier before it gets better, however.

Anyone know of any new features they'll have in store at the Kohl this year? The addition of the new lights last year was pretty awesome

Burish played in half the games his freshman year and didn't score a goal.

I know that, I was there. But what HE DID DO was lead the entire frosh class into Eaves' office during the Leavitt-gate and told Eaves he was with him and the entire class was with him. Right there was the start of something big and you could feel it

This isn't what you mean but there will be alcohol available before the game and between periods for a number of season ticket holders. Considering all the play the demise of the Blue Line Club has received over the years, I'm a little surprised that it hasn't been highlighted here lately.

Were you there when he led the players into the office as well?

Regarding marketing, the student section, the atmosphere in general, and getting people on board - Director of hockey marketing Drew Pittner-Smith was a guest on this week's Wisconsin Hockey Hour: http://www.thebig1070.com/media/pod...gershows/wisconsin-hockey-hr-110414-25523734/

He joins the show starting at 19:40 (though I'm guessing most of you listened to the whole thing already). He's focused on targeting the students and getting new students on board with the Crease Creatures culture, so that the fan base can build off of that. That sounds pretty much like what most people here have been asking for.

Also, we're apparently at about 1800 student tickets sold as of Tuesday.

I'll be curious to hear the warm reception for the Schamltz brothers this weekend. Anyone making cupcakes?

Can't imagine many care and doubt very many even know that they're local. Neither one Kesseled us and neither one is anywhere near as good as Philip was.

Meh. Who can blame them anyway? If my kid were good enough to have choices of where to play, not sure I'd push him towards Eaves at this point.

What do you mean for a number of season ticket holders? I haven't gotten anything on this, and haven't heard about it either. I have tickets both nights. I assume there is not talk, because no one is aware of it. Please enlighten us.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

Another thing is that kids/young men who play hockey these days have a lot of choices of where they're going to play - especially at the elite levels and they don't seem to be motivated (constrained) by home town loyalty anymore.

A kid that has spent his youth playing AAA instead of for his home club probably looks at these choices as a matter of business instead of the emotional decision that us fans might envision it to be.

There are several kids at my son's high school - the school that won state last year - who would be useful on the team who have never played for their high school and who have instead opted to play for the Capitols midget teams. And these aren't even elite level players that I'm referring to.

It just doesn't seem to me that playing for the Badgers is the life long dream of all of these kids. Or if it is/was at some point, other factors that have more weight often drive the final decision(s).

If you're over a certain donation level, you get access.

Figures it would be cater to the have's. I choose corner tickets to be close to the Students and because I like sitting in the corner. Apparently that and my lower Badger Fund donation aren't good enough to get a chance to have a beer between periods. Again all they care about is the high end givers, not the long time ticket holders like me 15+ years (Friday and Saturday) not counting as a student.

I have about given up on UW and Hockey tix and this crap is what drives that mentality to me. Maybe I should just give up my tickets and listen / watch from home - the only way I can show my disdain by the UW for the common man. The AD shows no appreciation for my continued giving and buying tickets.

When I want to drink, I bring my own. I always have better stuff than what they'd offer anyway.

I don't disagree with your points/gripes though.

Don't you know though? The video boards are supposed to be good enough for the common man (you). That's your perk. ;):p
