Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

North Dakota will come into Madison this year with a smaller, less physical team than usual. Do the Badgers have the size and attitude to take advantage of that, particularly around the net?

I think the question may be does Wisconsin have the speed to keep up w/the smaller players. We'll see very soon

I don't think Wisconsin needs to worry too much about keeping up with this UND team. They're not a bunch of burners, they are playing on big ice the Badgers are familiar with, and Hak has not shown much desire for racehorse hockey. Blais would go that way, but Hak . . . not so much.

But as you say, we'll see what each team has to bring and has to work on very soon. Really looking forward to the series, not just because it's a chance to see the Sioux play in person but because the rivalry has been special for a long time and Wisconsin's hockey fans have always shown like few others that they know how to have fun at a hockey game.

Not a lot juice in this thread for an upcoming season that is starting tomorrow! :(

Note to men's fans, the gals are playing OSU Friday @ 7 and Sunday @ 1. Come and see some live hockey and some studette UW players.

As much as I like the radio broadcast, it is hard to get too excited when they won't be home until Nov 7 / 8, and there is no "free" TV broadcast options for the first 4 games.

I am excited to see Keegan Ford and the other new freshman. Hopefully the team can find offense and the freshman can quickly get up to speed.

I hope that the team gets off to a quick start and the young guys find a groove, but is it wrong to hope that the few upperclassmen do all of the scoring for the first few weekends?

I love being at a game at the Kohl when someone gets their first goal and gets the special announcement from the PA guy...

Including the redshirts, there are 12 freshmen skaters. I think you'll get an opportunity to hear a couple at home.

Gary Shuchuk tweeted pictures of the temporary facilities at the Sullivan Arena that Wisconsin gets for this year's tournament.

Reminds me of the scene in moneyball where they make the players pay for soda in the clubhouse. While that story was actually fabricated, this is very real.

Sad part is Wisconsin didn't use the exception to get the extra two games.

I'm guessing that UAA pays for travel for it's invitees.

Ha Ha Ha, what a joke. Like Chuck stated, we could have those two games at home, instead they get port-a-john's and port-a-showers. I have never seen those temporary showers before. Hopefully they can use that to bond as a team.

I guess it could be worse, they could be outside the barn in tents with no showers!

It's a great day for hockey!

Any word on the attendance from the scrimmage/practice in De Pere?
