Interested in hearing what Badger fans have to say now after a very successful regular season about the balance of elite talent and 4-year talent on the team. Not having seen them play much this year, it sounds like Kerdiles is a huge difference maker, along with Zengerle. There was a lot of discussion here last offseason about Eaves not getting the right mix.

There is a very good chance UND will not make the tournament, and though they have the makings of a very good team next year and will probably not have much by way of early departures, they are hurt by not having elite level talent on this team, IMO. Wisconsin has it and could go the distance.

I have ran a few. If UW wins the Big10 tourney they should get a #1 seed, but if they win friday, but lose on saturday, they will need some help. I just ran a scenario where Ferris losses to UAA, but if Quinipiac wins their tourney they could jump over UW.

Winning is always the answer, but I'm sure someone is looking at every option.

North Dakota needs to win at least one game or I think they won't make it. Weak showing for the NCHC.

Like many other fans, I haven't looked at the PWR scenarios this year after looking at every little thing last year. One of my friends said there are a couple opportunities to flip comparisons with Ferris State, and maybe Union.

Yep, we have all of the pieces... Seniors, solid goaltending, good defense, difference makers at forward, 4 lines, etc.

Unfortunately, we haven't shown the ability to put it all together for more than a couple of games at a time.

We seem to lack intangibles and leadership which make for an inconsistent team.

We could certainly go on a run, but nothing that I've seen this year makes me feel like we will. But I am a fan and will be hoping for the best and optimistic (as possible) till the end.

Don't get me wrong, I still believe, but logic (and results) point towards disappointment before the end. We'll see.

Point is, they can't afford to take a game off or get off to a slow start after this next weekend and I can't think of a time this year where they went 4 games in a row without having a hiccup. Especially against good competition like we'll see in the NCAA's.

At some point you are what you are although the Kings of a couple of years ago showed that a team can come together and get hot at the right time..

It'd be a remarkable occurrence for the team to suddenly have 6 straight games played to their full potential and I'd be as happy as anyone to see it go down that way. But unfortunately I think it's considerably more likely that someone else joins the 6-timers club this year than it is for us to leave it.

I don't need to be optimistic about this team. I know that they can win it all and I firmly believe it. I do not see this team sleeping at any point in the upcoming games, they know what they need to do. Just my opinion though.

I'd love to be proven wrong, but this team has had enough flat starts on Fridays that it is kind of concerning.

Minny looks especially formidable, including the fact that they seem to have a do-not-quit quality that was missing several years ago. BC has York, who knows how to work this gig.

I just ran a few more scenarios where Ferris and Union win their tourneys w/ Bucky winning the Big 10 and UW would get to 4th in the PWR, in both bumping Ferris to 5th. Notre Dame actually has a lot to gain, as I did a scenario last night where they could vault ahead of everyone into 4th after this weekend.

no matter how I run them I can't get the Badgers to a #1 seed

Well, this is aggravating. Wife buys me B1G Tourney tickets for my birthday, but then suddenly my sister, brother-in-law and old college friend all bail on me. Somehow I don't think Mrs. EoDS wants to go to four of the five games.
