They have what, one NHL draft pick? Their philosophy is to recruit kids under the radar and late bloomers and then keep the kids there for 4 years.

These guys get plenty of need based help from their institution. Just like Ivies. It's really no different than elsewhere. Just a different label put on it.

McCabe 1st team All American......I guess he wasn't so bad afterall! Mersch 2nd team all American. Was there always this east/west deal on the All American awards or did it just used to be 1 nationwide team?

Yeah, All American or not, he didn't have a great season (by his standard that he set the years before, especially at the WJC) and many of these awards seem to be determined at times at least partially on reputation.

He had some derps this year and a few costly giveaways.

Doesn't mean I was hoping he'd leave though. I was hoping he'd have a bounce back season next year.

I don't entirely agree, but the "Doing less with more since 2002!" is funny. I don't know why, but I've actually moved back to the fence from the "Fire Eaves" side I was on last year. I think I realized there are a ton of moving parts, and a lot of moving parts are out of the Coach's hands.

I see UW finished 7th in the last pole. I was just curious.

Eaves teams do alright in the state of WI, but outside the state their record is usually lacking.

Last 8 years away record (since 2006 championship) 51-60-18

any word from the Hughes camp? Is he coming in next season?

I know it's belaboring the point but **** it's frustrating to watch UW have to re-build so much more frequently than "re-load", the latter of which is what the Nodak/MN/BC/Mich seem to do perpetually.

Spruce Grove just won the AJHL Championship last night in overtime. Cameron Hughes had the primary assist on the game-winner. I would guess conversations about next year will start soon for him.

I was hoping to counter this w/ how bad someone else has done on the road, but then I did the research and realized that UW's record is pathetic away from the KC. Pathetic for a top program at least.

Hi guys. The NMU 2014-2015 schedule isn't out yet and was wondering if any of you knew when the Badgers and Cats play in Green Bay. I see you play in Alaska the weekend of October 10.
