Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Thankfully I'm no longer a season ticket holder and will be having fun passing a kidney stone instead.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Played much better, same result.

If the B1G was over today there would be no team with an at large bid and it appears we would play the goofs in Detroit.

Ustaski did not play. Do we know if Ustaski is even still alive? No one has said one word about him in a couple of weeks. It's like he never existed.

Fortunately, This Idiot did not watch tonight's game.

Not sure if BA has the stones to fire Eaves. At this point, who makes the ultimate decision: BA or leadership several grades above his pay level? There are $850K reasons to debate the issue internally.

Wisconsin Hockey Fans: We are Idiots

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

This situation is a goofer fan wet dream.

Not just that our program is in shambles, but the fact that this season is making us all self-identify as Idiots.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

It would be a dream if we weren't also having the most disappointing season in memory.

Yeah, our little roller coaster ride isn't much fun either, giving hope and then dashing it the next night, each week.

But, ****, shutout 4 of the last 5 games? That is crazy.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

When things don't go well, it helps to think of yourself as a genius and the rest of the world as a bunch of idiots.

New title: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: Going Anywhere But Up.....

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Look at it this way. In the imaginary situation that we play MN in the playoffs. (Mich vs. Mich St. and MN vs. PSU would have to both be splits next week) and the even more imaginary situation that the Badgers would knock off goofy and end their season, at this point, the only thing I can think of that would improve upon that imaginary situation would be if we had 4 less wins right now.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

You have to wonder how 4-24-4 is affecting the kids. Will there be transfers this off-season (with or without a coaching change)?

This is worse than the Rocket's season by a large margin. The talent deficit on this squad is beyond anything we saw under Sauer. I think back on some of Sauer's weaker teams and even those teams could score goals (a 7-4 comeback win vs. the gophs w/Shawn Carter, Scott Sanderson, et al, a 7-6 comeback vs. the Sioux in Sauer's final year IIRC)...

Unfortunately I have no faith Alvarez will do what is right and clean house. If Eaves is back I don't see how they can be much better next season. Recent scouting reports on next year's class seem pretty average. Losing Dvorak and Boeser have/will turn(ed) out to be killers. So, if Eaves is back, any predictions on w/l for next season? maybe 12 wins?

If the Badgers knock Minnie out of the tournament, Badger fans will probably not have to buy much beer when they visit GF next year.

I don't care, because if Eaves is back I'm done with UW athletics, both emotionally and financially. I don't see any reason why I should care about or support a program when its clear that those in charge are willing to accept seasons like this. The issue is that unless major changes are made, seasons like this are going to continue to happen with the growing recruiting headwinds and class imbalance. The ONLY good thing that can come out of this season is that changes that could be made that would prevent (or at least seriously reduce the possibility of) a season like this happening in 2018-19 after this freshman class graduates.

It took me awhile but I finally got it. It's funny because next year Badger fans will be imaginary too!

You are always a step ahead of the pack, burd.

I concur and I'm holding onto my season tickets until I know a decision has or has not been made on Eaves and company. Clean house and I'm back, retain him and I'm sure I won't be the only one dumping the tickets. And they have to know that once people dump tickets they're invariably gone for good.

I'm in the same boat as you two. I am also holding back my badger fund donation (not needed for my tickets) as well, to see if a change is made.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

What is the minimum Badger Fund donation required to have access to the ticket marketplace? At this point, unless there is a change after the season, I have no intention of contributing to the Badger Fund or renewing my season tickets. If a modest donation in the fall gets me access to better seats for the handful of games I chose to go see....I would consider that. Reality is that good seats will be available for all games the way things have evolved.

One of the more frustrating things to me as a season ticketholder is that there really is no discount off face value for agreeing in the Summer to attend all the games. I cut a check well in advance of the season, and pay the same (or more if they do a promotion) then shmoe's that grab tickets the day of a game. All that with the added privilege of donating to the Badger Fund. I especially have enjoyed exhibition games against the USDT or Russian Red Army team over the years getting added into the package after the fact (when you pay in the Summer....you don't know what the exact schedule is) and again at full price. This idiot is quickly approaching the end of the road.

ticket marketplace is $50 I think. I don't think any donation gets you better choices for tickets for a game here and there. Years of continual giving help if you are buying season tickets and you are trying to upgrade.

To your second point, you can get 4 tickets, 4 soda's and 4 hot dogs for $56 ($14/ticket) for third level seats, and then move to all the empties in the second and first level (which there are plenty at this point). Why pay $20 / ticket for season tickets?

By better tickets.....I meant in terms of using the marketplace as opposed to just buying through the box office for a random game here or there.
