Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Not sure if any of you are coming to Ann Arbor for this weekend's series- but game times are not exactly usual- Friday is our normal 7:35 face off, but Saturday's face off is 4pm.

If you are coming- safe travels.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

It IS a Great Day for Hockey!

Michigan sports a 10-2 home record and it's going to be quite a challenge to get points on the weekend. But Rumps played well last weekend and I do think we're actually a little better on a smaller sheet. Probably because even though the game is faster, speed is less of an issue in a smaller space.

We're big underdogs but honestly, what's there to be afraid of? Certainly not these cuddly-wuddly guys:

Let's go Red!!!

Looks like a wombat.

I do think the smaller rink help's UW in the D zone as in less territory to lose your guy on. Hopefully the small rink also helps Soleway and the other physical guys to smash some corn colored jerseys into creamed corn.

I'm doing a double header the hard way, going to the gals game tonight and then watching the dvr of the lads when I get home. I encourage all the men's fans who are in driving distance to check out the gals tonight.

Let's to RED X 2.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Following up on my earlier post, thank-you to those that I was able to work purchases/trades with so far but unfortunately no trades for Tech jerseys... yet. Still about a dozen Badgers sweaters remaining. At least one of you much know a Tech fan with a gamer in their possession so let's make this happen.
;)
If you have any questions, feel free to email me (info@johnsonsjerseys.net). If by chance any of you have a Michigan Tech game worn jersey, I would be happy to work out a trade with you. Other D-I teams would be considered as well. I am open to offers on the remaining jerseys. Just drop me a line and I'll discuss it with the owner. The worst they can say is "no thanks".

Sorry Tim. I have more confidence somebody buying a Johnson Jersey than Bucky winning a hockey game this weekend. just saying.......No offense to JJ.

For some reason, this loss stung more than most of the recent losses. It reminds me of how I felt after the second loss against Penn State (which wasn't even their worst game in a few games at the time) - I'm numb to losses, but every now and then it'll feel like a big reminder of how much this sucks. I know that part of it, in this case, is because it was the second straight shutout against Wisconsin, and I couldn't go to the women's game tonight.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

At this point in the season I get ****ed when they don't come to play. You can't say that tonight. They gave an effort, but it was clear the lack of talent on the team showed. Ford, LaBate, Soleway and Hughes (x2) all had point-blank shots that didn't go in. Michigan gets 2 flukey goals. I liked the effort tonight outside of the PP, which was horrendous. It is what it is. They're bad. But at least they showed up tonight.

Solid points.

No they aren't because it has very little to do with Phil proper. It has to do with an idiotic policy that is one in an ever-growing (able to be climbed, of course) tower of small but telling things that lessen the experience for a lot of people. A guy like Phil having to wrangle with said policy merely highlights the absurdity thereof.

In other news, of the 15-20 games I've managed to watch after the fact this year that might have been the best I've seen UW play, for a variety of reasons. Still were outclassed but at least it wasn't embarrassing.

Live blog of the dvr'ed game...

Cavalinni and Davison with great open ice flattening checks. Too bad Cavs got a penalty for decking someone after he was CFB that was not called. He also had nice chance in the 2nd period.
Ford's a smart player, he covered nicely in the first when the D pinched.
Labate had a great chance on the backhand.
Nice hip check by Rocky. This pp is not good. UM isn't even being super aggressive.
The Shulz/Linhart pair have issues breaking out.
Wags with a flattening check.
Nice job by Eddie dozing in front of Rumps.
2 bad luck goals on the pk. uhg.
Da Badgers are taking any crap this game, being physical and playing hard.
Nice pressure by the 4th line.
pp with 4 2 go, let's get within one here boys. That didn't go so good, may have had a better shot with the 4 line running a regular forecheck.
Bummer Jedd didn't get that one. Almost too tight to do much with it.
iced it with an empty net....yikes.
and that's the game.....

There is a talent deficit, but the guys coming in next year will help fix that. Overall they played a very good defensive game, and played very physical. On that side of the ledger it's the best game they played all year. They really needed a ppg in that game.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Goal baby! Wags on the rebound! The lads are playing well again so far.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Not a bad pp there, I wish Besse would have shot, not passed to Schulz, who should have shot off the pass there.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

4th line is again the best line so far with sustained pressure.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Weak call, pp UM. End of 1.

Schulz has a little offensive juice, reminding me of McCabe last year, I like when he's able to carry the puck into the zone with speed.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

It's amazing how much better the Badgers look lately compared to earlier in the season. And it's not really just effort, they've been working hard for the most part, it's being in position, knowing where to go, and where to go with the puck. Good first period. Keep it up boys!

Let's Go Red!!!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Not sure what Dumb and Dumber were looking at on the replay.

Obviously bounced on white ice.

Great analysis asshats!

I saw it bounce in real time.
