Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Don't forget about Heater. Probably Canada's top winger this season.

Petey starts Friday vs. Anchorage per Shuey via Baggot.,

I'm curious to see how long LaBate @ center holds up.

Well, Zengerle, Kerdiles and Dahl aren't moving out of the middle, so, barring LaBate turning into Mario Lemieux, I'd say one weekend.

Apparently Cavallini gets first crack on the fourth line this weekend with Paape-Meuer. I get why, as he's better suited for a lower line role than McGuire. Even so, yikes.

Any chance Kerdiles plays this weekend now that (unfortunately) he's headed back home?

I think the earliest he could get back is Saturday. Even still, I'd be absolutely shocked if Eaves played him.

Edit: Bags tweets he's getting back tonight. Still think it's a long shot they let him play tomorrow.

Edit 2: Posick alludes on the radio that Kerdiles might go tomorrow. I guess that surprises me a bit.

Edit 3: Eaves says Kerdiles was going to play tonight if he could make it to the Kohl Center for warmups. Unfortunately his flight was delayed in Chicago so he won't make it in time. That means he'll be in the lineup tomorrow. Guess I'm an idiot.

Thread followers maybe rather distraught at the fact that I failed to award The SHABBY (Shot and a Beer Player of the Week award) last week. The rules of the SHABBY clearly state it is to be awarded after any winning weekend during the regular season. (That's right. Losers don't get Shabby's.)

The truth is, with the all the Holiday Cheer going around the McBadgerton household last week, I accidently drank Kevin Schulze's award. With a helper each night, bringing him to within one of last season's point total, Kevin continued his stellar play of late. At times looking like the best skater on the ice, he moved his +/- to +9 on the season, tied with partner Joe Faust for the Badger lead. There were many shifts Kevin hit the ice last weekend that he made everyone else look like they were playing in slow motion. Wisko McBadgerton is really quite impressed with the strides he's making in his game this season.

For all you do Kevin Schulze, this shot and a beer that I already drank earlier in the week... in fact last year... is... er... was for you.

Now,

LET'S GO RED!

What I was inferring was that would it last the entire game before Eaves starts juggling lines.

LaBate @ center was unmidigated disaster. It screwed up the line-up, plus Little being out clearly affected how much icetime the 4th line got, they were used sparingly and all the big dogs were gassed at the end of the game. The 4th line went from an asset to a liability.

I like Petey, he played well last year, but it has to be Rumpel the rest of the way. Rumps was sharp in the 3rd.

Not their best. Not by a long shot.

At least things started coming together a bit at the end, but it was still pretty sloppy.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Oof. That one hurt to watch. My expert analysis: If they played the whole game like they did at the end, things would have been so much better. Things looked lazy at times.

My yelling muscles were tired tonight, and there were a lot of newbies who picked up student tickets. It meant more work for the regulars, but I'm always happy for new people to get into it, even if they're not booing on the PK...they'll change. :) Even so, Wisconsin should have put forth a winning effort, even if they were at the Shell.
