Who would be the person to voice your concern too in the athletic department? I'm fired up enough on the banners to author an email.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

Don't underestimate the power of posting on the appropriate Facebook wall. Twitter doesn't get the same visibility.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

That is extremely stupid. I feel sorry for you guys.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

I couldn't care less about concessions, but the championship banners being gone is ridiculously stupid. How did anyone ever thing electronic ring messages would be better than actual championship banners? If you want to reduce clutter you can maybe get rid of anything that's just about tournament *participation*, but hang a ****ed banner for every team that's won a national championship. That is worth a physical object that is up ALL THE TIME, not just periodic electronic displays during that sport's game.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

What a crappy thing to do.

I'm pretty sure an electronic banner is only worth half a full hanging physical banner, so that will drop you guys down to 3 NC's.

too soon? ;)

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

This is beyond stupid. These small things add up over time. No wonder I care less and less every year.

UW Hockey: If it ain't broke, don't worry...we're working on it.

Maybe we don't need to contact someone while filled with hockey rage, see my post below for information about this being an incorrect report.

Yes too soon. Let us build our outrage into a fever pitch first...then take some jabs to further stir up the hornet's nest lol

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

"The WSJ story notes UW officials feel there is too much clutter and and not enough room for expansion."

That is the point the more clutter of banners of championships the better. What a moron who made this call. This person is probably the same person who camps outside for the new tech device. Morons.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

Here is a quick update to the "digital banner" debacle.

I sent an e-mail to Capobianco and got this replay "There will not be digital championship banners. That is an incorrect report."

Looks like someone has some explaining to do...

Capobianco just tweeted: "Despite reports, there will not be virtual banners at Kohl. There will be recognition of each championship team on the 2nd concrete ring..."

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

from Ben Fraser, director of Guest Services:

"I can tell you that wherever you heard that the banners were going to be electronically displayed is not correct, our Administration is working on a new display and I can tell you it is not electronic."

I sent him the link to the article.

Note: I was too slow and missed the tweet from Paul.

Not sure how much of an improvement that is... Sounds like a football stadium setup.

The same moron who decided to paint LaBahn mostly off white and beige......with silver lettering that does not stand out against the HGTV color selections.

Lettering on the second ring still sucks.

Banners are better.

What will they do if they ever manage to get an actual hockey arena and move out of the KC? Have an emotional ceremony where you get a chisel or jackhammer and take down the lettering?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

Isn't this banner issue exactly the sort of thing a group of concerned fans, say, a fan council or advisory board, might have some suggestions about?

Banners are everything. It's what I love the most when I go to Mariucci. There's so much history there but nothing spells it out more than the banners. Course, I am a traditionalist.
