for the win. wasn't that the worst?

I did not approve, but at least it was a live event that went long, they should have started the hockey game on an alternate channel so those that wanted to watch could have,

Wisconsin has won four of five on the road, and five of their past six games overall. That's all I have to say right now.

Amazing how getting the little things right can do to turn around a season.

I got a tough decision to make and thought I would turn to you guys for ice. The raffle at the mite tourney that my daughter is in this weekend has a game used, autographed, Joe Pavelski stick and a autographed Pavelski Jersey (not game worn). I can't decide which bucket to through my tickets in! I know the correct answer is both, but what would you guys do? :D

Show up at his golf tournament this summer and get stuff signed by him personally.

Since both are signed, I'd go with the game used item.

Fantastic tournament.. Game of the week was Edina-BSM. Alot of talent on the ice. Expecting over 150,000 in attendance this year, it was mammoth in the 70's and it just gets bigger and bigger every year. Favorite time of the year for me.
yes. my goal next year is to make it up for this tournament.

that Kloos kid looked great (lakeville south), Nanne, Randolph (amongst another 2-3 on Duluth East), Besse, so many great players. I hate to say it but it's fact, the speed of the game in this tournament is much faster than the WI HS tourney. these really are the best 15-18 year old players in the country.

also heartening to hear Kloos (iirc) explain why he chose to stay in school vs. go to Ann Arbor

Did ya have a chance to see Besse tonight? I hope so. Stole the show.
Its really a great time to take a week off with some friends, have some beers and watch hockey. I wish I had recorded the Edina-BSM game, truely one of the best HS games i've ever seen.

I miss seeing Glen Sonmor with Lou Nanne tho, he's been pretty ill for the past couple years. John Gilbert is another old timer I miss during this tournament, he was the clear cut best when it came to reporting HS Hockey (I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, great guy).

Besse will be a great addition to the Badger roster!

caught the first 2 periods before I had to leave for a rehearsal. Besse really stole the show from what I saw and what I REALLY like is he doesn't ever hesitate to shoot. always puts it on net even from lousy angles. anything can happen. I'm really looking forward to watching him in his next red sweater!

re: The MSHSL tourney, I'm going to go next year for sure. and I can't wait!
from what I saw of this years tourney I agree w/you the Edina-BSM game was the best, or one of the best of 2012. last year though that final between Eden Prairie and Duluth East was just flat-out amazing and takes the top spot for me for best HS game I've seen.

it really makes me even more envious of how much talent comes out of minnesota. ****

Yeah that Duluth E - Eden Prarie game last year was a great one as well. Good hockey is good hockey regardless of borders, and theres plenty of good hockey in WI.

When it gets closer to tourney time, let me know, my wife can score some good seats through the X, so long as you dont mind sitting next to some older folk :)

that would be sweet! thanks! I'll check in w/you next year for sure

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

well, they went down swinging that's all you can ask really. the last 6-8 games this team played very well.

hopefully Kerdiles and Zulinick will help push the team into the upper division next season

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Showed some fight and some pride going toe to toe on the road with a team who has often handed it to them in recent years. Losing a player of Shultz's caliber always sucks but if they put the work in there are much bigger and better things in store for this team next year. There **** well better be at least.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Great 3 game weekend. Rumpel is definitely a KEEPER!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Tough one to swallow right now.

Yep, they played so well that it could very easily have gone the other way. Each game was a coin flip, Denver came up twice and Wisconsin only came up once.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

I must say, I'm prouder than hell of the kids on this team. They could have quit, but they busted it until the final whistle. Talent is great, but I'm proud to have covered this group of guys this season that gave it everything they had down the stretch, knowing they were a long shot to advance to the tournament.
