Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

I fully understand nothing will change by me stating my opinion (that didn't stop all the MM vitriol :)) , but that is what this board is for, stating one's opinion and have some fun discussions off of that. I don't hate the jerseys, it's not a slam dunk "this is freaking awesome dude"! I'm not going to love love love it just because it's a UW hockey jersey.

I do LOVE the women's jerseys, for the men I prefer the 1990 version, I like the classics. There's nothing wrong with a 2016 Mustang, but it doesn't have the visual juice of a 1966 fastback.

Well Said.....

I am not totally happy with the new design - but the fact that the diagonal WISCONSIN stayed is the major saving grace in my eyes.

Besides, a few more W's this season and I'll be willing to forget about the double stripes on the arms!!!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Third party, but those double stripes feel like a huge change relative to the past however many years I can think of?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Thankfully, it mostly sticks to the script of our traditional look.

The double stripes made me do a double take, but I can dig the "forward" symbology borrowed from the new football unis. Not that you needed two stripes to do that...

Other than that, anything that looks different from our "classic" look isn't new: the lettering and the move towards a mostly solid red away jersey instead of inverting the home whites like it used to be. That last one is still an adjustment for me.

All in all, not bad. Still better than 100% of the ideas you could come up with using that ugly motion w.

That is exactly how I feel being a fan from late 80's to present.

Don't mind my ramblings, just working on shaking off the off-season rust and getting back into full contrarian/administration puppet/apologist mode :D

No problem.....there should be no apologizing for anything this season....other than the uni's ;)....what else could they (the administration) screw up?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Saw a pic in twitter of the away full uni, to quote that famous song, "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"...very candy cane.

So what can NMU fans expect out of Adam Rockwood?

My experience as a fan is he a really good player that will dish rather than shoot. great passer though...

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Granato posted a good picture of what the back of the new jerseys look like on twitter today. Numbers look different but again it is about what I expected.

Numbers and names look good in my opinion.

The double striped socks take it over the top in terms of eye pleasingness, gotta see it in full dress. Anyway, the lads are practicing, still a month out for games. Is the tilt with the University of Victoria a full priced game?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Yup, the Canadian game and the U18 game are both full priced tickets. At least they are counted that way in the season ticket packages.

That just doesn't seem right, especially the Canadian game, but that's the way it's always been. I would love to know season ticket orders to date this yr vs last year.

Based on the season ticket sales map on the site, I would say that they are up, but we are still nowhere near years past. It'll take a while to get the KC rocking again, but we're on our way.

Provided people know HOW to get the KC rocking again. Maybe it's been too long since I've been a part of a full house at an intense game. Seems like even when we were good before the decline the last two years the place wasn't exactly "rocking". Obviously,we are all hoping this is going to be a part of the positive changes we see in the program.

Winning cures a lot of ills......

Can't argue with that. I remember the late 90's and early 2000's being amazing in there. '06 was pretty impressive as well, but since then the student section has had a massive decline and without that there is a real lack of intensity in the building.

Man, I remember being forced to change location for our season tickets in the early part of the '00's because the student section had gone all the way up to the top of the 3rd deck. Those were the days.
