Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Will Phil ever get a shot as a nonplayer? How far back has he been an integral part of Badger home games?

He clearly deserves to be part of the history of the program, no doubt about that. Really hope he gets this kind of acknowledgement.

Where was that? I was too busy drinking by the stadium.

Wasn't their but got an email last week that the team would be making an appearance at the Official Badger Tailgate party at Anduzzi's. I believe it was $45/person and included food and drinks.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

I didn't see the location, it popped up on fb. Hope you had a great time. That was a nail biter of a game

It was a good time. Parked cars at my BIL's house, which is near-ish to Kroll's. Brought EoDS Jr. to College Gameday, heckled the idiot with the Penn State flag, made nice with LSU fans, caught up with old friends, drank a fair amount of beer, and watched a good football game. What's not to like?

I wonder how much "control" of uniform design the school retains when a contract like this is signed? Does anyone know?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Should be 100%. UW is the customer.

I don't know if that is entirely accurate. We may be the customer, but they are paying us to wear their gear.

If you look at the horrible NCAA Basketball Tournament uniforms that UW wore the past few years, I doubt that was a design that we came up with. Especially when it was the same format as almost all of the other teams that were with the same apparel company.

Here is an article about the Adidas "Made in March" lineup.

And here are the ugly uniforms from 2015

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

I would be beyond shocked if we saw any kind of major change in the design. It was the same deal with the football uniforms.

In any case, both Under Armour and UW Athletics want designs that will sell (both in terms of actual merchandise and building the brand).

Yeah, but UW is wearing them, they should have final approval of the design.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Not a fan of the double sleeve stripes. I prefer the single stripe of the old unis.

Double stripes suck, the lettering is too small. Look too much like the women's jerseys. I hope they didn't screw those up too.

I like the lady's sweaters! I always thought the double stripes were cool with the Motion W. That said, the new men's gear is only OK IMO. First of all, you've got to stick with the diagonal WISCONSIN", but larger letters (agree with T.A.) I don't like the red sleeves on the home jerseys; haven't seen the number typeface to comment, but I'm a fan of the "old fashioned" block-like numbers like the Packers have.

I'm sure they will look better when the boys are dressed and the protection fills them out. I also notice they have those arrow type stripes like the gridders have, significance?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

I don't see why there is complaining about the stripes; not a significant change. I do like the stars on the back symbolizing championships.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

They look like what I expected. Not too far from the old ones but a different take on it from Under Armour.

Don't complain it won't change.

Well said.

They are not an eye-sore, but they aren't the exact same as any previous design.

To me it still looks like UW hockey. It still has that cardinal/white scheme with the diagonal "WISCONSIN". Sure they added an extra stripe and they rounded out the font a little bit, but I'm not going to let either of those things upset me. Designs change, styles evolve, it is the way of the world.

Love it or hate it, that is up to each individual...just don't think that complaining about it is going to do any good at this point.

I fully understand nothing will change by me stating my opinion (that didn't stop all the MM vitriol :)) , but that is what this board is for, stating one's opinion and have some fun discussions off of that. I don't hate the jerseys, it's not a slam dunk "this is freaking awesome dude"! I'm not going to love love love it just because it's a UW hockey jersey.

I do LOVE the women's jerseys, for the men I prefer the 1990 version, I like the classics. There's nothing wrong with a 2016 Mustang, but it doesn't have the visual juice of a 1966 fastback.
