Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Team O, 3.44 - 9th
Team D, 3.56 - 52nd
PP, 23/100 23.00% - 6th
PK, 70/81 86.4% - 11th
Thanks for updating!

Other than defense, those stats are pretty good, eh? Once the D gets up to "Oz Standards"....look out.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

9-6-1 at the halfway point sure would look better than 8-7-1..

Well, 8-7-1 it is. It is encouraging they are outshooting 576 to 401 for the season. Last year they were outshot 1132 to 1068. For a reference point, last year the sue outshot opponents 1432 to 1102. As MCR said, Oz will get the D cleaned up and look out. I think allowing less sog is a sign Oz is making progress. Now the sog need to be of lesser quality. Great first half of the season all things considered.

I detect a heartbeat from the men's hockey program in Madison. The Badgers are not quite out of the woods, but I think we can move them out of ICU.

It's not even close to being out of the woods, but they faced the program's bed in the right direction out of the ICU. It's pointed down a path, and it's a nice marked path.

Now I'm picturing some kind of outdoor forest hospital.

As long as they left the room where puppies were crapping on the carpet, I'm OK with the progress.

A hospital on a ship thats waiting to be turned around.

Not sure to post this here or the recruiting thread, but apparently Dubuque traded Keegan Ford to Madison today. I know his situation was discussed briefly a while ago but not sure what to make of it. Possible return to USHL play for remainder of season?

he hasn't run out of eligibility?

He's still 20 so he would indeed still be eligible to play.

The NCAA's rules about the "clock" starting after high school don't apply in hockey, anyway. (Skiing too, if I recall correctly.) I'm virtually certain he has 3 years of eligibility left.

Would be interesting if he ended back at WI, has that ever happened ever in college hockey? Is his talent level such that G2O would want him? We're all lamenting a quality issue with the D.

He will only have 2 years left after this season. NCAA athletes have five years to complete their four years of eligibility, and Ford's five-year "clock" started when he enrolled full time at UW.

Dangit! I forgot about the other clock!
